I hate shoes. HATE them. I grew up in Hawaii and still live here, so there you go. Nobody (well, at least the locals) wears shoes, and if one does it's a fairly strong indication that they are a tourist.

Only when I'm in my house. For everywhere else I like wearing shoes. Walking on sidewalks and hard ground in general is bad for your feet when barefoot.

I use to love being barefoot--I would walk to the corner store and back during the spring and summer months lots of times barefooted. But eventually, I got sick of all the nasty stares and insults on how dirty and trifling I was for doing so. Now I wear expensive name brand sandals(very often) and shoes more then anything.
