Do you like to keep yourself busy, or are you fine having little or nothing to do?

I always like to keep busy. I go to university full-time, plus I work 38 hours at one job and am seeking an extra 8-16 hours a week at another job. I also go to the gym 3-4 times a week and am able to hang out and do things with mates almost every second day or night, and visit my parents and sister once a week. I find I get bored, and thus depressed, easily if I don't occupy myself, so I hate even having a couple of days off without anything to do.

I generally average 6-8 hours a night, though last night I got 2 and tonight I'll be lucky to get 6.

I'm the complete opposite of that, TC. I'm actually happiest when there's nothing to do and I don't have any important stuff pending. I love knowing that I could go out to the movies, visit a museum or some other interesting place, go for a walk, hang out with friends, or just lie in bed all day like a vegetable if I so choose.

I myself also enjoy a schedule that does not have enough hours in the day. To give an idea, right now I am working about 30 hours a week, am a full-time Master's student, am involved in church through a small group, and still have an active social life.

Having a busy schedule does not mean one is not capable of doing those things, it just means one is incapable of doing only those things. :P

I love to have my days free, I dont like planning my days a head as most of the time I just want to relax at home playing games and drinking beer. I've been working full time for 16 years now without a single break longer than 2 weeks so when there is nothing for me to do on my days off then, I love it.

Well I don't like having absolutely nothing to worry about. Then I get bored and feel useless. But if I have too much to do, I feel run down. I'm an introvert and my favorite time of the day is when I get home and know I am done for the day and can just eat, shower, and relax until I go to sleep. So basically being busy from 9-5 is all right and even encouraged, but I don't ever want to be burdened after my school/work day is done.

Same here. Extroverts are the ones who tend to devote every waking hour doing something.

I like being busy at work - there's nothing worse than having 4 hours of work and 8 hours to do it. That's torture to me. At home I've got the usual jobs to do; it gives me a small feeling of satisfaction to get that stuff done and know that there's nothing left to do but relax.

I like to be busy with varied activities. Where 'keeping busy' is code for being forced to do lots of tedious and unrewarding work, no.

Yeah definitely, I always try to keep busy. Not only does it makes your free time more valuable, but if I don't keep busy, after a while I get really bored and feel like I'm missing out on life.

How do you have time to study? Working full time + assignments + sleeping 6-8hrs + hanging out with friends = more than 24 hrs.

Unless studying conists of less than 2 hrs a day. Even then.

See I still do those things. I go to the movies every couple of weeks with friends, I watch an episode or two of my favorite tv shows most nights of the week, I play games whenever I can and see my mates every second day. For instance, today I finish uni at 6:30, will be home by 7:30 and have the night free. Tomorrow I'll gym 9:30-10:30, work at 11-8, then chill at home 8:30 onwards. Wednesday will be 6-2 work, 3:30-6:30 uni, and 7:30-9:30 at dinner with my sister, etc

Not really. :( But living on your own in an apartment, having a job, trying to go through college, and still (for some reason) playing video games is a bad recipe for free time.

Depends how the rest of my mood is. Some days I sit around doing nothing and a minute feels like 6 hours, other days 15 hours pass and I wonder where the time when while I was siting around doing nothing.

Other times if I am in good spirits I don't mind being busy.

How do you define busy? You can be busy laying in bed watching TV, or you can be busy building a house. I guess I am always busying doing something. Breathing keeps me occupied at all times.

I wish. It's so much worse. I've been leaving doors open. All over my apartment. The worst part is that I do it on purpose. I feel nervous unless they're open, like...really nervous.

I graduated from college in May and have been unable to get a job since then. As for free time, I have a ton of it (since I'm not working anywhere) and it is terrible. It's basically wake up, cook breakfast, and then try to kill the remaining waking hours. Unless you are into a depressing and failure filled esteem killer.
