Their guitarists are so fast it's unbelievable. It's awesome to watch their fingers when they do a solo.
they're ok, but they've turned out to be fakes, they can't do squat live.X360PS3AMD05
what are you talking about, iv seen them live and they are just as good.

Not from the videos and forums i visit.....well what cant they do live then,,, because if you youtube some of their guitar solos they are fantasic,,, and the singer just sounds the same live!
Not a huge fan, but I give them credit for putting on one hell of a live show. I saw them open for Killswitch Engage in March.staindcoldlpI heard they sucked live
Sounds they played a little to much Dungeon and Dragons...SpiritEmuHEY! there is nothing wrong with d&d.
The fact that they're metal makes me hate them. But the fact that the reason he's considered to be one of the best is because he can play fast is another. I swear, when did the speed you play at exceed the overall quality of the riff/solo?
I'll stick with Johnny Greenwood and Radiohead, thank you very much. Â

Because they play so fast, they can get away with their numerous bum notes.ÂSince when did making little beeping noises with your guitar qualify as a good solo? The fact that they're metal makes me hate them. I'll stick with Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple, thank you very much.
Â
PS: I'm kidding, but Ritchie Blackmore kicks Greenwood's ass at guitar anyway :PÂ

You try making beeping noises with a guitar. It's not like the strings are keys.[QUOTE="lemonfreshpanda"][QUOTE="Greatgone12"]Since when did making little beeping noises with your guitar qualify as a good solo? The fact that they're metal makes me hate them. You try making beeping noises with a guitar. It's not like the strings are keys. you try post editing a song and learn how easy it its to alter how things soundI HATE THEM!!!
Not only does their music sound like crap, but their guitarist sucks too bad to even play his riffs normally.Â
You know WHY it sounds so fast on the album? They speed things up using computers!
It is also hillarious seeing Herman trying to film an instructional guitar vid. Someone posted a vid in the metal union and he literally couldn't play what he was trying to teach right! The man also had no clue what he was talking about, as he wasn't using any real terms for the notes and whatnot.....
You want good guitar playing? Check out Nevermore .Â
Jeff Loomis is easily one of the best guitarists around today! He has more impressive stuff, but they don't have vids for the songs on youtube PLUS they have a great shot of him playing a part of the solo that gives you a great glance at exactly how damn talented he is.Â
Contrary to the general consensus in this thread, I love DragonForce. The lead singer's vocal range is phenomenal, the guitaring is ridiculously good (those who think fast = can get away with bum notes should listen to their ballads), the drumming is top notch and they're very experimental at times with the bass guitar and keyboard.
People who say they sound the same all the time haven't given them enough chance.
Also, they manage to catch that 'epic' sound that they strive for not only perfectly, but also seemingly effortlessly.

And Johnny Greenwood could never play a ****ing melody :PÂ

Jeff Loomis is indeed a very good guitarist. He has the chops of any the best shredders, but he differs from them in that his lead work is actually interesting.Â

I heard they were excellent live. My sister also went to a Killswitch Engage concert in March where DF opened up the show (you live in VA?), and she says that they were able to play each others riffs on the other person's guitars and also were pretty funny.Â

Hah. Take that. Fission Mailed.Â
I didn't say I disliked Greenwood, but the man is ****in' overrated as far as guitar skills are concerned. He's still pretty good, but there are at least a hundred other guitarists who are just as good. Some of those guys are metal guitarists, I hate to break it to you.
[QUOTE="cheetah_TM"]Vocals suck..but their instrumentals are insanely fast and awesome.luke1889
Just out of interest, why don't you like the vocals?
I don't know..sounds kind of annoying. I usually skip to the solo.Â
