Miss May I does the dual vocals sometimes and it sounds oh so right.FrostyPhantasmFor sure, for sure. Heck, they should use the clean vocals more than the harsh vocals. What's your favorite song off of their CD?

What's your favorite song off of their CD? I saw on their FB page there in the process of making a new one, but for this one i think it might be Apologies are For The Weak or Forgive and Forget, No Need To Whip A Dead Horse is there best non-album song though.

I like "Architects". I really don't like their cover of Swing. I thought it sucked a lot. They are a lot more negative in their lyrics than most bands that sound similar to them... Overall, I like We Came as Romans A LOT more.
Your music threads aren't fun anymore, battlefront23; you don't like anything I like so I can't recommend anything. :(
Eh, for back ups its ok, besides that I expect lead singers to do their job. As a vocalist I do my best, even if it means going from crazy screaming to a high, clean note. Not that bands with two main vocalists suck (there are some very good bands with them) but sometimes, for me, it takes away from the intimacy of a song and takes me away from knowing the singer's style and emotions more.
I think the perfect example is Kyo from Dir en Grey, if he left the screaming and harsh parts of their songs up to another band mate, it would take away from his passion, the man literally sings/screams his heart out, on CD and live. He has help from bandmates but he is the singer. In fact I'm starting to dislike the growing number of screamo/post-hardcore bands that have more than one credited singer, or a dedicated singer and screamer. If you can't ride two horses you should get out of the circus ;) :P
LOL. I've actually tried to get into Indy-pop recently so you never know. :PYour music threads aren't fun anymore, battlefront23; you don't like anything I like so I can't recommend anything. :(

Hell yes. Some of my favorite bands have more than one vocalist. In fact, my all-time favorite, Sonic Youth, has three.
I think it can be used to great effect, I love the "call and answer" method. Here's a good example of that, it's a song by Los Campesinos, featuring both male and female vocals. The result is simply fantastic.
I think it says alot about how talented a band is when they can have multiple vocalists combine into something fluid. While it CAN be used as a cop-out if it is a situation where one screams while one sings, overall I see it as just adding more work onto the band members.
A band that does this incredibly well is actually Maximum the Hormone. EVERYONE in the band sings and yet they fit together so perfectly. They will all sing some parts, have one person just take sole duty, and do really awesome back and forths.
Zetsubou Billy is a great example of how well they do this. Untill focusing on how the parts were split for this topic I never realized just how complicated their vocals are. They have some back and forths in there that are just insane.
Tsume Tsume Tsume and *takes deep breath* Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nururerorero are other good examples of how awesomely they just make the different vocals flow.
Linkin Park is another example of how multiple vocalists can work great for a band. Their whole sound revolves around how well Chester's vocals go along with Shinoda's raps.
I like guest vocalists that don't sound awful.
Stuff like Avantasia has lots of guest vocalists and they rock beause it's all Power Metal.
It depends on the vocalist, really. Ifthevocalist was changed and he sucked, would they still be good? Some of my favorite bands that changed vocalists are:
Iron Maiden: Paul Di'Anno had an awesome voice, but Bruce is amazing as well. Well, WAS, now that he's old and can't really sing anymore. :|
The Misfits: Danzig is my favorite vocalist alive, hands down. Once he left and Graves took over, Graves was pretty good too, although he was pretty much all studio. Jerry sucks as a singer and should burn in a cauldron of hellfire! X[
Avalanch: Juan Lozano had talent, but his voice wasn't strong or harsh enough. Once Victor Garcia took over, it was amazing-er.
Dead Kennedys: They are almost as godly as Iron Maiden or the Misfits. Jello Biafra is king of lyricism and has a funny yet awesome voice. This new guy that they have nowis atrociousand also deserves to burn in a cauldron of hellfire! Muahahahaha! >=D
Those are all the ones that I can think of off the top of my head...
is that band called alex is on fire, or alexis on fire? or alexi's on fire? :oAlexisonfire does it quite well. Dallas Green has the best voice of the three though. That is not a knock on Wade MacNeil or George Pettit though.

I really like how Pink Floyd used Waters' and Gilmoure's two completely different voices to really set the tone of each song. pis3rch
^ This.
I think having two or more singers in a band makes them A LOT better, especially when they harmonize.
