Yeah people who think Hip Hop is only about those topis are very ignorant. It's like me saying all rock is emo people wanting to kill themselves.
He certainly has talent, and his word play is very interesting. Sadly a lot of his newer music is ridiculously overproduced at least in my opinion. That aside he does have something unique, and he does stand out. Sadly he also has a lot of bs songs, and utter crap that plays on mtv... I have heard many of his songs, but I still haven't heard enough to formulate a fair opinion.

Worse than Soulja Boy? Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne are equally terrible. It really is a shame to see rap music turn into what it is today. I like T.I., he's about the most relevant rapper right now... and it's obvious that he puts effort into his lyrics. But what ever happened to groups like Goodie Mob, or Wu Tang? I know they've split up, and gone their separate ways... but that was some good music. Kanye is okay... he just acts like a huge douce-bag. To me the whole genre has gone down hill ever since Tupac and Biggie were killed. Oh, there's that white guy too... Eminem is a genius, but his lyrics really make me wonder if he needs some serious therapy.

This is true, but when you bring up rap music to someone that doesn't listen to it... the first thing that comes to mind is what's mainstream. Unfortunately, that's lil Wayne these days... and they say the Republican party needs to find a new "spokesperson." I do have to agree with monkeyd on the whole pants falling off thing... it looks like they're walking around with giant load of poo in their pants. But the whole thing about chicks and cars is just being "rock-n-roll."
