i like stats. It is nice to put some number on something and compare

I like numbers when there's some sort of pattern to them, like when I'm on page 123 or 456 of a book, and I prefer even numbers.

yeah. they can't be argued with, they put things into perspective.
say, if i am a kobe fan, and i claim he's better than michael jordan. someone shows me the stats of both players. The stats do most of the work in showing that MJ is definitly the better player. there's also other circumstances, such as the rules about handchecking and other major rules that made it even harder for MJ to achieve the stats that he did. after being shown the stats etc. i could change my mind about kobe being better
