I do. I like these songs the most:

They're alright when going for a ride, but I think they're no that great.

They got a bit of an edge further in their career...so they went from pop to pop rock.  Not much of a stretch.

Nope....there is good pop out now.....not the mainstream pop of course.  But other genres have a "pop" subgenre and some of it's quite good.  I like some Brit pop for one.

Some of "The Cure" falls under pop... Like some of their later stuff. Not like Bloodflowers later, but even some songs from Kiss Me, Kiss Me (Just Like Heaven...) were pop.

When The Beatles changed their sound with Rubber Soul (moving away from 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'She Loves You' ) it most definitely was not mainstream for that era... the only reason why it is seen as mainstream swill these days is because so many bands have adopted this sound because it's so perfect.
