Old Star Wars was far superior to the new ones... the only thing better about the new ones were the lightsaber fights. And Qui Gon, but they killed him off in the first movie so they lost all credibility just for that.
This is like asking whether I prefer soda or diet soda.

Thats an odd one comparison, especially since Diet soda sells more, but there are still many that love the old sodas.
Personally, I could find enjoyment in all of the star wars movies, although episode 2 really is hard to like.
Of the newer star wars movies, epi1-3, then I actually enjoyed episode 1 the most. It was made when CGI wasnt as much used as it is in episode 2 and 3, and the there are better actors in that one, that can deliver the silly lines the best. And, episode 1 actually felt like a nice adventure, where the other 2 felt very clunky. Anakins turn should also have been explored a lot more, instead we get most of it in Episode 3. So it felt rushed.
And no, I dont have any problems with jar jar, hasthat not much in the movie.

Okay, maybe it wasn't the best analogy, but does anyone actually prefer diet soda for the taste?

I do :)
It feels more fresh, then getting your entire mouth sugar coated ;)
Something I wish George Lucas had done, was make the first three from the story in the 1970's, and then made the last three of the story recently. The original had a better story in my opinion, and if they had added the amazing effects they can do today with them...they would have been amazing.
