Do you like the word clydesdale or just plain fat for naming an overweight person? I like to be called a clydesdale. It sounds so much cooler. Being called fat doesnt have anything to do with how heavy you are. Clydesdale does. A clydesdale is a male person over the weight of 200 pounds.

I'd never heard that before. So can I call a guy who's 200lb of muscle "clydesdale"? If so, how do I distinguish the guy who's 200lb of fat? Can I still call him "fat" in that context?

I'm fortunate enough not to be fat, but I'd rather call an obese person fat. I've never head of the word "clydesdale" anyway.

No that would be like called the guy muscle. Like "that dudes muscle",it also wouldnt work for calling a guy fat.Now that I think of it saying that a person is fat doesnt make sense like saying a person is muscle.

Nah, if someone is trying to call me fat, I want them to come out and say it and not hide it in some word to confuse the hell out of me.

what if they are using 90's slang and mean Phat as in nice curves? though i knew plenty of people in highschool that would just say they meant it that way to avoid a swift kick to the groin.

people wear PINK across their ass in public, i dont see why this should be seen as any odder, but social acceptability is not for me to set.

dont get me wrong, those often hug the aforementioned area well, but it also a generally accepted onenight stamp, especially if worn to a party.

Actually, I just remembered something. Wifey and I belong to the Greater Long Island Running Club and for some of the runs/races there are categories for different ages but there is also a Clydesdale category (if I remember correctly for people 200 LBS and above).

Nah, I am alright. I'm only mad because when I actually thought about it, it made sense. I just thought they were now tacky like wearing pajama pants in public. I never got that vibe fromk them at all. :( I only stay mad for a few minutes.

A Clydesdale is a horse, and a beautiful one at that.

I'd rather not have these noble creatures associated with disgusting fatties.

Clydesdale? really? Not trying to be mean, but when I hear "clydesdale", it envokes the images of power, strength and dignity. All of those are exactly the opposite of what I think of when I see or think of an overweight person.

Resentment* I'm 260lbs 6'3", but I'm more muscle than anything, basically I'm like a linebacker without the belly, or Broch Lesner. The BMI says I'm overweight, women tell me otherwise. I just tend to say, "Thanks," to their advances and move on (my fiance would kill me if I acted upon another woman's words), but that's beyond the point. The point is, overweight doesn't always mean fat.

I prefer the term Gelderlander over Clydesdale to describe overweight people, myself.
