Do you live in a high crime rate area?

Latley my town has been under some serious heat. Recently, someone was lit on fire by another guy, then a week or so ago some guy blew another guy's head of with a shotgun, and then about a month ago a couple were beaten with a baseball bat, with the wife being dead and the husband just barely survivng. Crazy world.

Nope, not really, but Flint and Detroit are both just an hour or so drive from where I live. Which, if I remember correctly, Flint being first and Detroit being second most dangerous cities in the US. Not that it matter. I only go down to Detroit a few times a year for a week or so. As for Flint, maybe every once in a blue moon...

It does seem like their influence tends to spread across the state though. I've been seeing an increase in some pretty bad crimes, even around where I live and visit daily.

I live 2 blocks north of Detroit. My area has been screwed up for years. My ex girlfriends sister was stabbed in the throat on prom night. Some degenerate was herassing her at the gas station. She told him off and he stabbed her. 

I smoke outside on the porch and I hear gunshots every night. I hear full auto assult riffles. The degenerates in my area have no fear of going to prison. They'll kill you over a bag of peanuts. Going to prison is a badge of honor they get to be with their homies.

My cousin is a registered nurse at childrens hospital in down town Detroit. I've hear horror stories about the abuse that goes on in Detroit. Some of the things she's told me would make your skin crawl.

I was pretty amazed when last year my old "we're a small town, that sorta thing don't happen around here", hometown (6,500 people) recorded three murders while my adopted hometown (Aurora, IL - 200,000 people) went an entire year with zero murders.

I live behind a marathon gas station that doesnt sell any craft american beer..........I fear for my live everyday from the trash that lives around me.

That being said, I still have some stories that can beat yours.

Not really, there are a few neighborhoods in my area that are somewhat dangerous, but I generally feel safe going out for a walk or bike ride in the evening.

I definitely in one of the worst parts of the city, but it's not saying much cause our crime rate is rather low.

Shootings are semi-rare, no one gets raped here, quite a bit of thefts but nothing you can't handle if you keep your head down and stay alert

I go back to visit New Orleans a lot. A few years ago, while I was back visiting, I just finished eating at a Chinese restaurant for lunch, and as I'm walking out to my car, I see a black guy walking down the sidewalk by the street across the parking lot I was in. A car creeped by and I hear pop pop pop, and the car sped off. The guy got shot in the neck and ran across the street to the Sonic parking lot, fell down and died.

Murder in broad daylight.

I live in a small town, so the only crime we get is drunk driving (though, there is quite a bit of that).
