some stranger ask you something (direction, time ...) but he/she doesn't say excuse me or thanks/thank you ?

Personally when I myself aske people something, I always say "excuse me" and "thank you" so I expect poeple do the same to me. Otherwise I'd feel vey annoyed.

What I really hate is when someone (and it's always been women for me for some reason) asks for directions and if you happen to not know they answer, they get all pissed off at you.

Unless they're asking "what time is it, jackass?"... no, I don't get annoyed.

Exactly! It's always some middle aged housewife and God help you if you don't know the answer to her question. Wowzer! :o

Woman sees man. Woman assumes all men know directions. Man doesn't know what woman believes man should know. Woman questions her man-detector.

I appreciate it if they are polite about it at least since they are asking for help. Had a woman ask me for a dollar today in the Walmart parking lot and she was extremely courteous so I gave her the dollar. Might have been conned but she was just so nice I did not care.

edit - she said it was for food but her courtesy made me smile as I was already in a good mood :)

None of us men ever know where the hell we're going. She should have learned that decades ago.

TC, I'm with you. I don't like when people don't say thanks after you help them with something, or you hold the door or elevator for them.

No, not at all. Why should I feel that way? I don't expect anyone to treat me how I'd treat them. I've come to learn this about people, but they'll never give you more than they're willing to give. Feeling annoyed at them, frustrated, whatever, won't change it. The way I behave, or treat others, is my own sense of pride. I don't do it because I expect anything from them. And you shouldn't either. By the way, chances are I'm probably one of those guys who don't say excuse me or thank you. Why should I tell you what you should all ready know?

I get frustrated by that on occasion but I try not to let little things such as that bother me.

I still answer them, but I dislike it when they don't say 'please' or 'thank you'.
