Do you own/carrie a gun??

I just saw a movie on this subject (kinda...), and it kept me wondering how many people actually own aa gun!

I don't own any, and a surely don't feel a need for one, but how about you?

Its very hard to get a gun in the UK, very strict laws and even then you can't just stoll down the street with it in a holster.Spartan_385

I dont have a gun and I dont need to, I have a collection of katanas, and though I know how to use them, I dont have them because I need protection or something, just because I like them.

Anyway I think its stupid to have one for protection, why?:

1. Your family might be in danger with it.

2. If a criminal sees you with it then for sure he will shoot you, and probably he shoots better than you do.

3. Many people have bullets and guns in different places, which is stupid for obvious reasons.

4. The criminal will take your gun and, congrats, he will have a new one.

What u should do is stay unarmed and cooperate, and when u have the chance kill the guy with your hands, which is not a problem fopr me

thats nothing. he only carries a small handgun. my uncle never leaves his house without at least 4 guns on him and he has a serious collection.

no. most of the guns are for hunting actually.

1. Only an idiot would put a gun where kids can get ahold of it, and idiots shouldn't be using guns.

2. No, if a criminal sees you have a gun, chances are he'd bolt. They get a significant confidence boost if you're unarmed.

4. If he manages to get your gun, he probably had his own. Two guns aren't any more useful than one if you're just trying to rob someone. :|

Unless there's a people's revolution of some sort in the near future, owning a gun in the suburbs is useless. I don't think that guns should be nearly as legal as they are.bman784

I own a few. Remington 870 Express shotgun, short barrel 6 position stock variation. I also own 2 SKS rifles, one in the original wood setup, and another one with a tactical setup, 6 position stock, forward scope rail. And, of course I own 2 Howa M-1500's. 1 in .308 and the other in .223.

I agree its ok if u dont have family, or live alone, but children tend to find anything(and u know about the shootings in school), thats why people keep the ammunition in another place. Yes, u can have one if ur great with it and u are trained so that u can react in the minute they surprise u in ur home(they wont be knocking the door), but many people arent trained, and usually they dont go alene so the chances that they will kill u are bigger than if u dont have a gun in your hand.

About point 4, I mean that they will take it after they kill u.

The ignorant must be you, I dont know what Bush told u but it shouldnt be normal that people go everywhere wit guns, learn from other countries, its hard to get guns there, but they dont need them.
