[QUOTE="Reed_Bowie"][QUOTE="dave123321"] Don't know how he could have missed that.Pirate700

I don't think he realises that "Jesus" is a common Hispanic male name.

WTF are you talking about? You know I live near the Mexican border, right?

Uh, it is. I lived in Venezuela for most of my life, and visited several latin American countries. Jesus was a very common name.

And btw no.

His efforts at trolling I guess. At least kk and nibroc are actually effective at what they do.

haha,guess so =P

I was gone for a while ( smoking ) and came back just now. Let me clear things up, these threads ( aside from the rare few ) I create are due to being stoned. Forgive me. There's just been a helluva lot of religious debates in my house recently.

[QUOTE="th3warr1or"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]What do you do when you have a guest over? Just out of curiosity.

Pirate700

I think most people who do pray, would probably pray even if they have a guest over. I mean, if you do pray, it's not particularly rude to do so if you're the host.

I have to disagree. I find it rude to put a guest in a situation that they can't take part in (if they aren't religious or of the same faith).

I've never ever had that problem though. Maybe cause everyone who does come over to my place is generally well aware of my religious affiliation (and okay with it). What would you define as a "guest?" I don't think I would mind if any of my friends felt the need to pray before their meals, though I'd technically be a guest in their place.

I mean if a guest is over a a family's house for dinner and they decide to say grace. They have to know how awkward that is for the guest sitting at the table with them not having any clue what they should do. What's worse is when they ask that guest to lead the prayer when they aren't religious.

Nope, never have. I find it very strange. I have never been in a situation where I had to. Talk about uncomfortable- That would just weird me out. I don't like putting pressure on during meal times; it should be relaxed, and open. By saying Grace, I feel like it puts pressure on the meal, like CHERISH THIS FOOD.

Thumbs down. No thanks.

Ok good. It's really mortifyingly awkward sitting there and not having a clue what to do or knowing if you're offending them or what they think of you after. I'm amazed at the amount of families that have guests over that either don't know that or just don't care. :P

Like I stated above... I feel like saying Grace puts wayyyy to much pressure/tension on the meal. It should be casual and relaxed. Grace weirds me out, so does assigned dinner table seating, and using the "right" utensils. Thumbs down on proper dinner manners.

Nope. I remember I was eating at a friends house one time where they said grace at the table. It was one of the most awkward minutes of my life.

Pirate700

Oh god, I still remember when I was at a friend's house and started chowing down just to look up and see them getting ready to say grace. Embarassing to say the least.

No. I would usually just thank my mom for cooking the meal. If I made it, I pat myself on the back.

No. But I fold my arms, close my eyes, and stay silent while some member of my family does when I'm eating with them.
