[QUOTE="biggest_loser"][QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Yes, it's a cultural thing in Spain. I see no difference in this and a butcher.FightingfanIts slaughter for the sake of entertainment and spectacle as opposed to a satisfying a need like hunger? People due tend to eat the bull, just like in Puerto Rico with the Cock fights.
I believe in Spain, they feed the meat to the poor, and homeless. SO bleeding-hearts can be satisfied too.
At least the bull isnt getting grinded up in a slaughterhouse, plus they eat it after so its not a waste
dude...in a slaughterhouse the animal dies like in 2 seconds, maybe less...in a bullfight the first thing they do is stabbing the bull a bunch of times so that he begins to bleed out, then they put him to run against the matador, which makes him bleed out way faster. after that the bull cant move anymore because of the lost of blood, so he falls to the ground, and the macho matador, thinking that he just took out a T rex single handedly, gives one final stab to the bull... how is that faster/less painful than killing the animal with a meat grinder? At least the bull isnt getting grinded up in a slaughterhouse, plus they eat it after so its not a waste

Bull fighting = slow, torturous death including humiliation

Yeah but lots of other animals eat meat, in fact the human body was also made for you to eat meat. No other animal enjoys seeing other animals being tortured, besides humans.

On top of that, it's the entire bull's life we should be comparing. It's a lovely image that all the cows you eat spend their entire lives roaming around in fields and generally having a laugh with other cows until that fateful day comes, but that's not always a realistic scenario either. I don't know anything about how bulls are kept until the fight: how well they're fed, how much space they're given, etc., but I'd hazard a guess that it's far better that the condition your average livestock cattle are held in.At least the bull isnt getting grinded up in a slaughterhouse, plus they eat it after so its not a waste

Don't get me wrong, I'm not "pro" bull fighting; I just eat beef on a regular basis and try not to live under any illusions of my own relative humanity just because I don't have to witness the death or life myself.

ehm...no...even if the bull wins, he gets send to the slaughterhouse or is killed by another matador

ofc is not very humane, a lot of people abuse them there...but its way faster (or atleast its supposed to be) than in a bull fight[QUOTE="not_wanted"]

no, the human body is not designed to eat meat, sure we can eat it but we are not "optimized" for thatPlease Log In to post.
