I do not.
I like to rely on drugs as little as possible.

There is a difference between something like lunesta or ambien and an idiot physician giving someone diprivan, a non-barbituate sedative used for inducing general anesthesia.
Herbal remedies are the best.Flawless_Rhythm
I most certainly agree. But the odd time I may have to take a pain reliever if it gets to the extent where it's not going away.

What about like Melatonin? I take that occasionally when I can't sleep or have to get up really early the next day. Its a natural neurotransmitter in your brain.Over the counter... I'm needing some right now for my back :cry:cametall
I just had a back pain, cuz I was cutting trees in my backyard, hurts my back. back musles strained, all I need was stretch my back everyday(exercise my back), I feel much better now. stiff a little, but the pain is gone.... pain pills wont help, believe me.
Never. If I have pain, I grin and bear it. Unless it is so excruciating that I cannot stay conscious, I do no medicate when I don't need to. I usually take an advil or two when I feel a fever coming on (as a preventative) or when I have a fever and don't want it to get more serious.
Medicating for every little problem lowers our body's capability of fending for itself. I think the reason why I have such a good immune system is because my mom only ever got me drugs for bacterial infections and just made bed-rest and lots of water the solution for viruses.
Until I was 22 or so I never even took aspirin. But now I do have a RX from my Dr. for a muscle relaxer and pain pill when needed (bad back). I don't take them often, a couple a month, but when I do they help a lot. btaylor2404
Yeah, but the pills helped only for a short time. I believe.

Correct. Which is why I rarely take them, only when my back is very bad. They only provide a few hours of relief, right before bed is usually when I do take them. What happened?[QUOTE="binpink"]
Aspirin as needed.
Once I hurt my neck and took a Vicodin after eating a small breakfast. I really thought it was fine cuz I had a little food in me. Wrong. I never took one again and I don't ever plan to.

It was very crummy. I was in high school (which was far from my house), btw. I took the pill in the morning after a little food. I took the train to school and while I was sleepy in the morning (normal) I couldn't stay awake on the way there. I went in and out of consciousness on the train, waking up periodically to tell whoever that I was sick. I couldn't stay awake on the van ride to school either. I stayed at school til second period and I have no way to really describe how I felt. It was the weirdest thing ever and I could not do anything except sit there thinking "something's wrong, what's wrong?" I have no clue what was happening in school, my mind was so wacked-out. I was pale and sweaty (gross) the whole time, too, and hot. So I went to the nurse finally and called my parents to come get me. I slept til I was picked up, the car ride home, and for several more hours after getting home. 1 pill knocked me out and I have never felt so bizarre in my whole life. I didn't even think "Oh wow I'm tired, I think I'll rest." I would just fall asleep. :? It scared me.
I had a very bad vehicle accident, and I take what is prescribed.
It helps me to function with little or no pain.
Pain medications are not a problem as long as you are responsible while taking them. They do harm only when people become irresponsible.
When I was younger I rarely took medicine unless the situation absolutely demanded it. I tend to have some very strange reactions towards casual medicine and so I tend to avoid it unless I really need it. This is especially true of antibiotics which doctors seem to prescribe like candy. I wait until I realize that it's something new that my body can't fight off (which is pretty rare these days) and then I'll take a few until the infection goes away.
Unfortunately due to increased medical problems I now go through periods where I need a decent amount of pain medication otherwise it becomes very hard to move around and rather difficult to focus on any one particular task. It concerns me a bit as my body adapts to medicine very quickly and lowers its effectiveness rather drastically so I try to spread out my intake as much as I can.

That's the way to go. pills are not the best answer, youknow.
Usually, yes. I take 3 ibuprofens or a Midol if I'm in pain.
I read on Comcast news that the FDA is going to put warning labels on pain killers.
Great to see you on here C. I'd say you have a very good reason. How are you feeling, shoot me a PM when you have time and let's catch up.3 500 mg Vicodin everday, sometimes up to 5 depending.
