It's way overrated. The story went completely down the drain after Soul Society, and now the it's been pretty much reduced to minor characters fighting boring battles for a half a year if not more. I still read the manga and watch the anime out of habit, but boy does Bleach suck right now.

Funny I found this topic. I just started watching the series Sunday on surfthechannel.com. After watching just 7 episodes, I went out and bought the 3 seasons that are out. Never before have I seen an anime that has as an awesome story, great action sequences, and comical moments as Bleach has. Probabily the most engaging anime I've ever seen. And Rukia is probably the most smart and strong anime woman I have ever seen. The only complaint I have are that the episodes are only 30 minutes long. They could easily make the episodes an hour long, and still have the show be engaging.

This topic will probably be seen as union advertisement, first off.

Second off, no, I don't think its overrated. I like it a whole lot and watch each episode once it gets subbed (I'm at the part where the old guy with the longass name fought Allon), but at the same, it is so far from the best ever created.

I like the characters, but the world itself is a little lacking. However, the interesting characters, and more importantly the awesome fights make up for my problems with the series.

Overall, its an above average action anime.

The bount Filler was bad, but I find the Arankars(sp?) to be a lot more intresting. The series may not be the best, but it is has great action, and has comical moments. Plus Rongiku(sp?) is hot.

Eh, I completely skipped every filler, and most of the Huece Mondo arc, and practically all of the Arrancar arc.

I like it right now, though, the fights are entertaining, but theres getting to be way too many characters. Either kill some off or just drop some.

I only enjoyed like the first 20 episodes or so, the anime just did a huge turn around then, it basically mislead me into thinking it was this cool dark anime, then Rukia got arrested or something and it all went hell, I stopped seeing it right there

Well the english dub is terrible so I had to find it in Japanese online to watch it but other than that it was pretty good. That said I only watched through the end of the sould society and I heard it gets bad after that.

And yes, there is a Nirvana CD called Bleach, which I've listened to and I kind of like it.

My favorite songs on it are Scoff, Sifting, etc

I wouldn't say it was. I don't think the anime is really all that great but Bleach fans don't seem to push Bleach out there and scream about it all the time like it's the center of their world. They just think it's great and that's that and so I don't think it gets put on a pedestal all that much and thus avoids getting overrated. They're a quietly intense bunch.

I don't know. Two of my friends that got me into the show have done watched 200+ episodes, and they said only a few episodes drag, but not to where you stop caring about the show. I'll keep on watching it, cause out of the 30 episodes I've watched 0 were boring or broken.

episodes 1-63 are the best shonen anime ever created. of course it drags on after that but still the original story was awesome.
