do you think circumcision should be the persons choice?

You mean the largely divided group of specialists, some of whom argue that there are some very slight benefits while simultaneously noting that it decreases sensitivity?

There are large benefits. I enjoy sex very very much and being cut allows me to last a very very long time while reducing the risks of contracting an std, plus it looks a lot better.

reduction of std transmission is bad Mkay, pleasing women is bad, you should be a selfish lover mkay.

Yes. It should ALWAYS be the persons own choice. Why would anyone mutilate their own child like that? Are we really that barbaric? And no, it's not 'cleaner', it's a very bad reason to snip your son.

You do realize the STD spreading thing isn't true, right? And your penis has been both shortened, and the nerve endings brutally cut off. And it doesn't look better. It looks drier, and that isn't very attractive imo.

There are real health benefits.

I don't understand why people care about this so much. People who are circumsised don't mind (as a rule).

As far as I can tell the only legit reason is that people personally prefer a foreskin, this shouldn't really be a concern for hetrosexual guys.

There are scientific peer reviewed papers that show it to be true. I will take that data over your guesses.

Male circumcision significantly reduces the risk of HIV acquisition in young men in Africa. Where appropriate, voluntary, safe, and affordable circumcision services should be integrated with other HIV preventive interventions and provided as expeditiously as possible.

I could like more but I fear it would be a waste of time.

It really doesn't look any better. When the penis is in its erect state, they look the same, and the erect state is what counts, right?

Pffff, so HIV1 can be prevented with snipping off the foreskin - condoms does the same, and are 99% safe. unlike circumcision.

Choice since it's not necessary. It doesn't really matter though, since you can live with both easily.

I'm actually glad I'm circumsized because I don't need any more stimulus coming from that particular area. Stamina: it makes the ladies (or whomever you're into) happy! I'm also glad because as an American, most of us are snipped, and US girls think uncircumsized men look like turtles. Should it be a choice? Who would want to have their prick cut? Nobody, that's who.

This, and circumcision is done to prevent problems (diseases, infections) happening when it is not done. As for females having it done.. i don't agree with that.

May I add that said study actually had a second part, which was supposed to proof that women were also less likely to get aids from a HIV positive partner if he's circumcised. But when the data was pointing towards women actually 50% more likely to contract Aids from those partners the study was stopped early due to being unethical. ^^"
Science at it's best.

To quote the president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, in who's country said study was performed among others:

"If male circumcision was the answer to HIV prevention, then Ugandans who conduct circumcision as a traditional belief or a religious practice would not contract the disease."

Is it really such a bad thing that your parents did you a huge favor?

Being uncircumsized is backwards and stone age style. Also, there is more of a chance for infection with the foreskin. Don't make the kid suffer as an adult, get it done.

We were talking about males contracting STDs and the fact that being circumcised reduces the changes of STDs substancially.

No one has claimed it as a cure for aids, only that it reduces the chances of catching it, which it does.

not going to fault you for arguing with people who will not change their view on anything no matter what, because i get caught in those conversations sometimes, but it might be time to walk away and let the evidence you have presented speak for its self... unless youre having fun, then go for it.

I must admit I am intrigued by the thread. Most posters here are male and most claim to be hetrosexual. Yet so may seem to have a huge interest in the male penis I am circumcised so my position is obvious.

But for a male is not and is hetro why the interest in other guys bodies?

Unless of course there is a religious reason for this that people are not voicing?

Eh, all that plus the fact that some people, in my opinion, really don't have muchof a life so they try to fill the void by interfering in the lives of others.

Nah, don't worry about it. Was just passing by and noticed that nobody properly shot that argument of his down. The entire study is flawed to the point of uselessness and simply contradicted by reality. Just wanted to set that straight. ^^"

No, religion has nothing to do with that. To me the interest simply comes from my dear friends who are circumcised and who stated their honest feelings about it to me in those usual "late-night-what-the-hell-am-I-even-talking-about-here"-conversations you have on messager services.
You mentioned lasting "very very long" correct? An acquaintance of mine stated a similar thing. He received what is known as a "radical circumcision", which means that his glans is the last erogenous point he has left, everything else was cut away. He has already trouble reaching orgasm now in his 20s, in like 30 years when the nerveendings in his body have started to decay through aging he may reach the point where he has too little feeling left to achieve that anymore. Obviously I didn't go into any detail on that since I didn't want to hurt his feelings.
I'm simply worried about him, and concerned that in this day and age people are still vouching for this important decision about ones sexlife to not be in the hand of the owner of said body, but somebody else. It just rubs me the wrong way.

There are loads of studies on this subject, not just 1. How do you think science works?

How about rather then making stuff up you present your own scientific studies?

Its a fact that circumcision reduces the chances of contracting AIDS. You obviously don't like this fact for reason that I can't understand.

you can avoid diabetes with out a proper diet and exercise, but that does not mean a good diet and exercise is a bad thing. those are life styIe choices, and i would raise hell if someone tried to take them away.... as i tend to do in threads where people call for the banning of some foods and drinks or when people call for tariffs on companies they dont like for whatever ideological reason.

You know what, tenaka2? You are right. I got sidetracked here and apologize for that.
I can not disprove your studies.

I believe there is a reason to doubt their significants due to not being double-blind and only barely passing the requirements for a proper randomized controlled trial. But at the end of the day, I can't disprove them, and even if I could it would be ones words against another's.

In any case those facts aren't relevant to this thread I believe.

If I have a son someday and have him circumcised, I would insist on anesthesia for him. I wouldn't let them do it without anesthesia.

Um, you can't give a baby anesthesia, it's gonna kill it. The best you can get is some topical lidocaine cream which does nothing to ease the pain, but it at least makes the parents feel better.

Are you circumsized? Bc if you are, don't tell me you remember any pain, bc I am and I didn't, get over it geez

Circumcision is barbaic, archaic, and almost always pointless. Unless it is needed, it should not be something the parents can decide on.

Pointless, idk about that, it is cleaner, can help reduce STD's, less risk of infections, not to mention it just looks better, it definitely isn't barbaric, that's for sure

[QUOTE="YellowOneKinobi"]Senseless.....................if you say so. I think I'll stick with the advice of our OB/GYN and Pediatricians.

You mean the largely divided group of specialists, some of whom argue that there are some very slight benefits while simultaneously noting that it decreases sensitivity?

pleasurable enough for me, and i last longer for her. sounds like a win for all parties involved in the intercourse.

Since it is non-essential in all cases, choice.

If it is made the child's choice, there is probably little to no chance I would have it done, just out fear, I'm glad my parents made that decision for me when I was a baby and had it cut--it's the smart thing to do

It seems trivial to me. Either or doesn't make you any less of a human being.

No I don't and I wouldn't like any guy I sleep with to be either.

Circumcised penises look worse, they don't look bad but its not quite as nice.

Uncircumcized penises are ugly.

communistcat

I'm with you on this one. Also, hell no, I wouldn't want my penis sliced and diced while I'm fully grown. Are you high, TC?

I believe doctors can use injected local anesthetic for an infant circumcision. I would insist on it for my son's circumcision.

This website is so aggressive about foreskin. It still gets the job done for both parties, little hood or not.

The aesthetic argument is the weirdest to me. Unless a dude is rocking an abnormal amount of skin, an erect penis looks like an erect penis. Not something I really want to be gawking at either way.
