I was randomly watching the classic Jurassic Park last night and I thought wouldn't it be cool if someone actually managed to clone a dinosaur. It was all so believable the whole taking Dino-DNA from fossilised mosquito blood. I just wonder if one day maybe in my life time scientists can make an actual Jurassic Park. Not necessarily using the mosquito method, I'm sure someone will find another way.

So I propose the question to you Gamespot, Will Dinosaurs ever walk this planet again?

Personally I think it is inevitible that a scientist somewhere will manage to bring them back. Is it a good idea? Probably not.

days of the dinosaurs are over. I highly doubt we would get the DNA needed and a suitable host to gestate the dinosaur. But who knows maybe a similar organisms might roam the planet in a billion years or so when we are completely gone.

Well its her stage name. I saw her live before anyone knew she even existed, she was pretty good. I am glad shes doing really well now. Its funny, i think all the opener acts for that show are actually doing really well with good labels minus the headliner.

I think its only a matter of time before someone works out a way to create a dinosaur from dino dna, but instead of just having them sit in a big zoo I think we should then feed the worse criminals to these dinosaurs for our entertainment. Put them in a giant maze and watch dinosaurs hunt them down from a birds eye view or watch these supposedly highly intelligent velociraptors play chess or something lol

I think it's possible. I mean, what if the lizards start evolving into bigger lizards? :o Or what if the birds stop flying and decide to start hunting animals on land and therefore start losing their feathers and start growing teeth and dinosaur scin and stuff? :o Doupt it will happen anytime soon though.

It might be possible in the far future, where we understand DNA to such a degree where we can manipulate it to make any short of animal we want, including dinosaurs.

For now though, i don't think so.

Depends on how capable we are of breaking things. We obviously couldn't bring them into existence Jurassic park style but maybe we can break physics enough to allow time travel or somehow figure out a way to construct a DNA profile of something similar to a dinosaur and create one that way. Of course neither of those are anywhere near likely so I'll just say no.

Currently I would say we don't have the technology to clone dinosaurs. If we did, chances are somebody would have done it by now. My guess at this point is a No, but I don't think the idea is impossible for future generations should cloning technology improve.

Jurassic Park, huh? Yeah, Michael Crichton is REALLY good at making science fiction sound like legitimate science. There's always one tiny, vital thing missing though that stops it from becoming a reality. I guess we have ostriches. They're big, they run fast, have nasty feet, and vestigial, near useless, clawed fore-arms. That's pretty close to a t-rex there.

Sounds very implausable to me. I tried doing a Google search to see if I could find any other sources to corroborate MSN's story (since the writers for sites like MSN and Yahoo understand science about as well as I understand Koine Greek, and their articles tend to reflect this understanding), but the only other site I found that even hint at this was a creationist site.
