English is the most awesome language ever and so is Russian.

I mean, listening to speeches in those languages can be pretty moving. Especially war speeches.

English takes some effort to sound elegant. I would say there are some instances when english is a beautiful language and others where it's pretty ugly. This is why english is so great for writting since you have more tools to make things sound just how you want them.

Japanese is ok sometimes, and a bit too "sharp" others. I find it hard to relax w/ the Japanese language.

Chinese doesn't sound beautiful to me at all

French sounds beautiful but that's about it.

German is pretty ugly, along with the "norse" languages it's based off of.

You are mistaking the definition of beauty.

Dont care! Either way there is nothing beautiful about a language, its just language, a form of comunication and nothing more!

so by your theory:

music is just a way of communication nothing more

painting and sculpting is just a way of taking a picture nothing more

architecture is just a way of building houses nothing more

movies and books are just a way of telling stories nothing more

I dont agree on all that but I dont see how a languauge can be seen as an art form anyways, and **** theories, I choose to what I like and what is not acceptable to me when I feel like it. Thats the way I pretty much think anyways, although not all the times.

English is most likely the most simplistic language on earth. To me it sounds to plain and simple to be beutiful... Besides you must take the accent into account. English english, american english or australian english, they sound almost like different languages.

Most beautiful in my opinion could be French, Japanese, Kurd, Korean and something like that.

Pessu

English is one of the more complex languages actually, mostly thanks to the fact that modern English is the bastard child of French, Old English, and German. For example, English is a bit unique in that we have two ways to say most things (the germanic set of words and the latinate set) with very subtle differences allowing English speakers to make very subtle distinctions in speech otherwise not available in, say, French. Furthermore English is an extremely large language with over 600,000 words and 25,000 added each year.

Anyway, I'd say that English can sound beautiful in the right context. Usually its a bit rough on the ears kind of like German, but in literature and the fine arts it usually sounds very nice. For the record, Old English is (or was) a very beautiful language.

but thats just it, art is subjective, what i think its normal may be art to you adn vice versa, language can be art, im not saying that language is art as i dont think it is, but some languages can be pretty to hear

It can sound elegant...but there are other languages that are far more conductive to elegance...

An important person said this:

English is to talk about business, French is to talk about love, Spanish is to talk to God.

fanboy-buster

I like that! :)

English is okay but I think Italian, Spanish, Japanese are beautiful languages.

Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn't, some times it isnt meant to be beautiful.
