Do you think it's possible dinosaurs will rule the Earth once more?

Well, (in theory) large dinosaurs died off and mammals lived because most of the mammals lived underground and were very small. So, I think about now how most mammals are above ground and many small reptiles are below ground. So if another asteroid were to hit the Earth, do you think it would be possible for the reptiles to take over as the dominant speciesand evolve into dinosaurs (obviously not the same kind)? Of course I'm not sure if lizards would evolve into what classifies as "dinosaurs", but since all the birds will probably be dead, they'll be the closest thing.

It's impossible to know what any species will evolve into, so any guess is correct, or most likely incorrect.

There is a theory that is dinosaurs were alive now, that raptors would be the dominant species.
