So all those women who buy "romance" novels must be uncivilized as well.
I wouldn't know. I don't know any woman who buy those.

Yes, look at the bastions of morality that ban porn. Like Pakistan, or China, for example.
ad hominem's ftw.
[QUOTE="TheLastPrincess"]ad hominem's ftw.
The_Ish
Not really, since civilized governments are not oppressive.
wut? you're just furthering my point.

Sex is a natural thing...I don't know why people think it is a huge deal. I'm not saying porn should be forced down our throats (pun not intended) but it has it's place and it shouldn't be restricted to just guys either...mattsnibbs
 couldnt help it...
but yeah your right
I read in some Psychology magazine that men in general shouldn't feel ashamed if they're looking at it because humans naturally want pleasure and it's in their genetics to get sexual pleasure. I guess now people must ask is there a difference between some business man looking at a picture a bit longer than usual or looking at it for like 10-15 minutes doing what billions do. RyuHayabusaX
I like women, but I prefer them with their clothes on. I don't know why that is.

Well duh they get money. Of course they'll do it. I don't watch porn out of respect for women... It would be unfair to my wife anyway if I have images of other naked women in my head while we're having sex.

if you really love someone and your really into the moment you shouldnt need images of other women in your head. Still that has nothing to do with while porn is disrespectful to women, because there are guys out there who would do that reguardless

I don't think there's anything wrong with porn, I watch it from time to time, and that doesn't mean I don't respect women, I'm a gentleman and I treat all women I meet in real life with the utmost respect, and I don't drool over them or stare or anything like that.
I don't think watching porn HAS to mean you don't respect women, in some cases it does, but in my case, I respect them, and I don't objectify women, I objectify pictures. ;;)

What? Did I end up sounding stupid? :P
I thought it was a good way of saying it: I respect women in real life, and my view of them has nothing to do with my view of some pictures.

no I was serious that was a good way of putting it.

Porn is taxed. The government gets a cut. Prostitutes are self-employed. That's why it's illegal. Don't you ever pay attention to what's going on around you? The only shady business here, is government.
Anything goes, no matter how dangerous, as long as they get a cut. Anything that doesn't pay off for them, no matter how safe, is shut down immediately.
There's your disturbing life lesson for the day. I hope you took notes.

[QUOTE="PannicAtack"][QUOTE="Lockedge"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"]I'm waiting.BTW, TC, a few days ago you made a thread about Martial Law being declared in LA...
I went to LA last week to see my grandmother. I didn't hear any intercom about curfew, I didn't see armored vehicles driving around, and I didn't see armed soldiers on the sidewalks.
>_>
Lockedge
It's like you don't bother to engage in discussion in the threads that you yourself have made. >_>
Hardly martial law, but when police forces are allowed to infringe on a civilian's first amendment right to assemble, and on top of that with excessive force in the form of rubber bullets, tasers, etc...
It's not martial law but it's close enough to make me hope that someone fights back against such unconstitutional behaviour.
Admittedly, police have begun to look more and more like jackasses, from the bad press concerning tasers. But comparing riot control to martial law is a gross exagerration. If the protest was getting out of control, then I think it's reasonable to contain it. Not that I know anything about the nature of the protest, but even so, the comparison is ludicrous. Ever see the movie 'Missing?' That's what Martial Law is.
Oh, I know what martial law is. :P Breaking up protests isn't near it, but it offers hints.
I'd like to think they're simply breaking up protests/riots that get out of control, but over the past 2 years I've heard about a lot of non-violent protests getting bombarded with police squads using excessive force. I mean, if I'm taking part in a non-violent protest and 200 armed policemen charge in and order people to disband and leave the premises immediately...I'd like them to give a reason. Instead, when people ask why, they repeat the same statement and/or assault people/shoot guns in the air/shoot smoke cannister.
Not disbanding a protest simply because the police order it with no explanation should not warrant them attacking unarmed civilians with rubber bullets, for instance. "Because the police say so" is not a valid reason for someone to hand over their 1st amendment right.
Not like it's just LA either. It's a lot of places in North America alone. LA just seems to be the only police group to march through streets after protesters, shooting anyone who moves. *shrug*
