I think that if done right, it could be fantastic, but i guess that is true with any movie.

I think that the main problem that they would have is making it more adult than the premise makes it look. People who aren't familiar with the book with look at a mouse hero and shake it off as another Narnia, A childrens book trying to be epic. But the book actually isn't that childish and is really a fantastic story.

Your thoughts?

I have never heard of it, would you advise it as a book to read? At what sort of level of reading is it?

I tried to read a Redwall book once...I didn't really see the appeal. I think some people just enjoy the creativity of combining high fantasy and historical inspirations with humanoid rodents. For me to enjoy a book, though, the characters have to grab me...and that didn't happen with Redwall.

It is a really good book if you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings books. It isn't quite as good as them but it isn't really that far behind.

Oh really? I'm in the U.S and he is from the U.K so was that why i didn;t see it? I don't know but i'm gonna see if i can find that online.

Redwall would make a horrible movie. I've read 5 or so books, basically, the same thing happens every book. The young, stalwart hero rises inconspicuously from out of nowhere at the same time that some looming evil happens to set its sites on Redwall. The stalwart hero travels to redwall, meets some of the big wigs there, they have a feast or two (seriously they feast every book). Then the hero hears about the evil. Said hero goes through several life epiphanies with the help of 2-3 friends and in a moment of extreme deus ex machina, defeats the great evil in 1v1 duel. It's been done before.

Great story, but the fact that animals are used to portray the characters will make it seem rather childish to the general public.

I think this should be left simply as a novel...

I love the Redwall books... A movie based on the first one might be good if it were done right.

Only if it were a Don Bluth animation. Otherwise, it would suck.

Those books were the **** back in the day but that was more than a decade ago? Is the writer still going on those or what? They were pretty graphic books. Don't remember a show about them. Always got hungry when reading them because the author would describe the food and feasts for pages and pages. I didn't know what half the food was but it sounded delicious.
