Nope, religion will probably never go away, as in many societies it brings reason and morality. Not saying that non- radicals are likely to quickly give up their faith, but many religious radicals....well, they're still going to war over religion.

Probably not. It is likely that, over time, it's influence and the number of religious people will dwindle, but I doubt that it will ever completely die.

I don't think it will ever go away. People need to think that they (and their loved ones) go somewhere nice when they die. However, I think we will continue to see that religion will have less and less of a stranglehold over policy and government. The middle east will be the last dying example of theocratic rule that has dominated society for thousands of years.

Religion as we know it will eventualy die away. Give it another half to one thousand or so years at most before the "Abraham" religions are forgotten.

Don't know if I'm allowed to say this but I really wish that it would hurry up and die as soon as possible. Many peoples lives have been ruined because of religion and I find it unfair that it has to affect everyone even if they, just like me, would like nothing to do with the whole ordeal. I went to church because I was invited by a friend a little while ago. Horrible the place. People act like their listening to your opinions, when really all they're waiting for is a chance to cut in and tell you something that they have no evidence to back up with. But thats besides the point really. The main thing im concerned about is these terrorists that use religion as a way to brainwash the more vunerable and desperate people in the world.

You see I believe thsi thing about Christ returning to start His kingdom on earth.

That being said, I believe there will be a dark age and I believe we are beginning to fall into it. That isn't knocking atheists for turning away, its knocking everybody, for letting themselves become stupid, lazy, and incompetent.

How is everyone stupid, lazy and incompetent?

I think the opposite, we've never had it so good.

Throughtout my entire life I've seen people in general become more and more hateful when it comes to actually having to work.

Thats what I mean.

Everybody else is supposed to do everything for them, and then they should be shot down when they do something wrong.

[QUOTE="ShotGunBunny"][QUOTE="iki080"]I'm Armenian Orthodox and i still believe in religion because it teaches people not to be evil in witch some country's it does work but do you think one day it will die out Stumpt25
You need religion to teach you that? As for the question: I hope it someday will. Because we're fully able to make up for ourselves how we can best live our lives, we don't need a religion for that.

If there's on thing I've learned over the years, you can't rely on humanity's better judgement to be moral.

Saying you can't rely on mans better judgement to be moral so you choose religion is like saying "Well we haven't discovered aliens on another planet so there must be a God". Religion is resposible for many of the attrocities commited over the course of human civilization.
