I guess it also depends on what your definition of dumb really is. For instance, a genius might consider a fairly intelligent person a considerable moron.
Not at all. I say this in light of how higher education has helped refine the way in which I find humor in the simplest things. I am a huge fan of hyperbole, understatement, irony, sarcasm, and taking idioms and statements out of their original context. Very often I keep these comical antidotes to myself which results in laughter regardless of what situation I might be in. Such things bring be comic relief and this is a very common occurrence throughout the day even if these things are only ever noticed by myself. Does this mean I laugh at crude, inappropriate, and childish things? Not at all for such humor is not required of one who is "easily amused."
No i don't but from what i've seen of a few shows like jersey shore/the hills/katie price show thing, i do feel a bit insulted that the makers of the programme expect me to find this believable or entertaining. I also find it a little annoying that shows like this get made rather than more quality TV like Peep Show, That Mitchel and Web Look, The Inbetweeners etc.... (don't take that as i only like English TV, i love Curb Your Enthusiasm and other foreign shows). But no i don't think the people who watch these shows are all dumb (but i do think the collective IQ of those who watch Question Time would be far higher than those who watch Big Brother).
