An article on Fox News says that the images look very similar to ordinary images of fighter jets. The sun may have hit the jet the right way and it looked like a missile.

Yes, because this smoke trail that you can plainly see ascending from the ground in an enormous plume:
Looks just like the thin horizontal contrails you see from fighter jets:
Also notice how in the first picture the smoke plume is going vertically at first. Last I checked fight jets don't take off by shooting straight up into the air at a 90 degree angle.
The F-15 Eagle came into service in 1976...it was the first fighter that could go straight up and gain speed.
There is still no official report. This is actually a little worrying. Either the government is hiding something (although, if they were i don't think they would be denying it and would just say something else), it was an accident and the government doesn't want to admit it (but again, i think they would say it was them if it was actually them).
And i love how the government says it was not a foreign missile yet can't even say what it was. They are obviously hiding something.
I think it is a missile, and possibly shot from a submarine. If it was a submarine I'm guessing it was a foreign submarine testing to see how vaunrable the USA is, so far it looks like the USA is very vaunrable to an attack. Anyways I still think it's a missile of some kind.IceAxe18Everyone is vulnerable to missle attacks. So, I highly doubt that someone was "testing" to see how vulnerable we are. It's probably a mistake.
