Dude do you really think Republicans wake up everyday and then think to themselves that they're going to screw over women (Sarah Palin says hi btw), education, etc. Seriously.

Do you really think I'm racist rofl? I'm a big fan of sports, and all of my favorite teams are filled with black people...

"I like sports, those black people on my favorite teams help them win. I like it when my team wins. I really like them on my team." You totally couldn't have worded that any better, really.

While the GOP have a weak ticket this year Obama does not have this election locked in by any means.

[QUOTE="slowpokebro"] Here is the thing I read. Pretty interesting.GIJames248

Ron Paul knows the constitution better than the other two? Ron Paul's views on the constitution go against a hundred and fifty years of judicial precedents and ignores many of the amendments. He has introduced a bill into the house more than once that would allow the states to ignore the first and fourth amendments in many cases, and he would allow state governments to crush personal freedoms. He's as much of a liar as any of them.

He wants to limit the power of the government and focus the remainder of that power in the state governments so people actually have say about how they are governed and not people in California or Texas who decide to impose their views on everyone else. I really have no idea how you could think he is against personal liberty.

He wants to completely nueter the federal government to where it has vitually no power, and allow competing currencies. We tried that. It's called the articles of confederation, and it sucked balls. That's why we have the constitution and why the civil war happened.

Yes, they have a chance of winning, but for the U.S.'s sake, they damn well shouldn't get into the White House.

They only ever had a mathematical chance on paper under the best of circumstances. It was never a realistic chance outside of polls and spreadsheets. Obama was always going to win regardless of how the Republicans ran their campaign based solely on the complete lack of an electable candidate to oppose him.

Obama would have to get caught in bed with underaged prostitutes while snorting cocaine between now and the election in order to lose. There isn't anything realistic that will happen between now and then that will prevent it.

And no, it wont even be close.

Also, in the name of full disclosure, I was ( the last time I voted ) a registered Republican.

Nothing tin-foil hat about that. Ron Paul does want to severely de-power the federal, while granting more power to the states, and he does want to allow competing currencies. This is part of his platform.

I do not like what the Republican Party has become. It has moved to being very radical and partisan, I do not like it's main candidate Romney either, particularly his VP. I wish they would use John Huntsman as the main GOP base, he was my personal candidate. He probably could have won the election too if his party wasn't so extreame.

As a whole, the GOP does have a strong voter base, so I think they do have a shot. But most people do not want radical. I am personally an independent because I find both parties to be hypocrties and just being in a political party to begin with seems kinda....sheepish to me I guess. Especially since they are both evil.

Ron Paul is not the nominee, and Republicans never advocated that. You can make the case against Ron Paul on a lot of things, so don't associate everything he says with mainstream Republicans.

With that vice president choice? No way. My only concern is that people (especially younger) will assume "Oh, Obama will win, I dont need to vote, this will be a landslide". And he'll lose.

[QUOTE="slowpokebro"]I don't wanna bash or offend any conservatives/republicans here, but I want to ask you guys if you think there is still a chance for Mittens to pull off a victory. I consider myself an independent voter and the things the Reps just turn me off. I know it's not all reps that are bad, but I hear/read more stories of right-wing nutjobs saying dumb things. It's almost as if they're not playing the game to win, but if they do win then, "hey cool we won!" The liberal swinging media is also to "blame" for the Reps pretty much guaranteed loss in November. It's a lot easier to pick apart what Reps say and use it to make them look bad. The media is playing a HUGE role in making sure Mitt is not president. So are there any reps/cons out there that honestly and truthfully believe the Romney-ryan ticket will beat Obama? What factors are out there that make you think your vote is pretty much nothing this early in the campaign? 3qh0o7.jpg This pic may be a bit exaggerated, but to me, there are enough people (+51%) that would understand where it's stemming from and say "Do Not Want!" You don't even have to be republican to see it imo, but wherever I turn, the people on the right seem to be a bit too confident that Mitt will win. They usually deflect and say Obama will lose the election because of the economy. But, the economy isn't even that bad. Who knows... Ron Paul might take the whole thing away from both of them.

The fact that you think the economy "isn't even that bad" completes voids anything else you have to say on this matter. We're in our worst economic situation since the Great Depression. Over 8% unemployment... actually it's 10%+, gas is pushing $4 per gallon, decent paying jobs are very hard to find. The economy is awful right now. But, to answer your question... I saw prediction of the electoral map that has Romney/Ryan winning very big. According to the source this prediction hasn't been wrong since 1980. Make no mistake, the economy is THE issue here. Gay marriage, abortion, immigration, and whether or not you've really been raped doesn't matter. People want jobs... period.

It is also worth pointing out it was done by left leaning professors. It does assume that Romney wins PA, and VA, which I don't think will happen. But even without PA, and VA, Romney will win.

Linked, just to help discussion.

In 2012, What is striking about our state-level economic indicator forecast is the expectation that Obama will lose almost all of the states currently considered as swing states, including North Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida, Bickers said.

I find that extremely unlikely. While the economy is an important factor, there are time that it's drowned out in this election cycle, so the predictors that UC is using my not apply as well as they say. I know that they have predicted every election for quite some time, but this is not a typical election.

The chances are pretty much in Obama's favor. I'm curious to see how people who are currently convinced that Romney is assured a victory would react to an Obama win. Probably with accusations of voter fraud.

obama or romney is like asking if you want to chop off your left arm or your right leg both options are terrible
