[QUOTE="KamuiFei"]

They had a good run, to say the least. But all things come to an end eventually. If theres no shortage of fans, and the people who make the Simpsons still have ideas and make money, why should it end? Once theres not enough fans/ratings to justify making more episodes, it should end.

Pirate700

They ran out of ideas when they switched writers after season 11 and the show was completely ruined and not funny at all.

Haha, really? I haven't watched it in a very long time. Last time I saw the Simpsons, was the movie. Which was just ok imo. If I need a nostalgic fix, I'll stick with Seasons 1-7 or something. :P I kinda knew the Simpsons weren't the same lately, because of how some people I know talk about it sometimes. I just never bothered watching the newer stuff myself, lol

[QUOTE="kittensRjerks"]

yes, the simpsons stopped being good after the 7th season

Pirate700

I agree. 2-7 is just comic gold. subtle, INTELLIGENT humor.

8th and 9th had some great episodes too, some of my favs come from them.

They should have ended a few seasons ago, but I have a feeling they want to at least get to season number 25 before ending it

1. the lady who does bart's voice doesn't sound the same anymore. She used to make Bart sound like a 10 year old boy, but now he sounds more like a girl. 2. Once they replaced Fat Tony with his identical family member I just thought that was crap. 3. There are still laughs during the show, but not nearly the brilliance that was seasons 1-6. I watch the older episodes and wonder how the hell they came up with something so funny. I don't like the look of the show either, the older animation was better. Should they cancel it? Maybe, but if there are people who still watch it , it doesn't hurt me any to have it still be on the air.

Honestly, I stopped watching around 1999 or so, which is when it became ridiculously unfunny for me.

Sitcoms typically have 4-5 funny years in them (usually with 1 year to ramp up); the Simpsons was lucky enough to double that but they haven't been really funny in well over a decade.

In your opinion, do you think the Simpsons should end?

I don't think it should end. It's true the show has had a dry spell the last few years. But last season they really started to pick up and it's really feeling fresh again. I just finished watching the new episode tonight and I had some good laughs and it was all just good fun.

I don't think the Simpson should end just because it's one of the longest lasting shows on TV, and it might have been "milked" a little too much. But personally, it's a special show to me that I've had since I was a kid and I'll keep watching it as long as they keep making it.

I was watching it since it was on Tracy Ullman, to be honest I haven't cared much for it in years and feel it has go on too long. I would be fine with just a yearly halloween special. Even those have gotten too political.

It should have ended 12 years ago.

It saddens me that there are now so many more bad episodes than there are good ones. Episodes from seasons 3-7 are the best things that have ever been on TV, ever. It went gradually downhill towards season 10, and from season 11 onwards I've barely been able to watch it at all.

No, even though it may not be as good as it once was, it'll probably be better than whatever replaces it (Another Seth Mcfarlane show, Sit down, Shutup,etc.).

I still enjoy the Simpsons very much. I know the older seasons were better, but I'm not going to compare the golden years of the Simpsons to what's coming out now. That's setting the bar too high and will most likely make you disappointed in the newer episodes.

[QUOTE="ArmoredCore55"][QUOTE="junglist101"]What I wish didn't end was King of the Hill:(Pirate700

I wish King of the Hill didn't end that early, either. :(

It didn't end early at 13 seasons. It ended while it was still great. Not a complete embarrassment like the Simpsons post-season 11 (and really after season 8 ).

It did end while it was still great. Of course the later episodes weren't as good as seasons 1-7,8 so maybe it was for the best. It did such an amazing job at making you forget that they were animated caracters and you could relate to them on a human level. It's weird but I literally felt a sense of loss when I found out it was being cancelled. At least it went out with it's dignity in tact.

No way..even though the newer episodes aren't as good as the older ones The show is still way better than most of the animation on TV now, especially now that King of the Hill is gone.
