Do you think the US will ever build a skyscraper larger than the old WTC?

I'm pretty sure they decided not to rebuild the WTC, but that doesn't mean some other building some where else can be built taller than the Twin Towers. Do you think that would make the new structure an instant target for terrorism?

well, The Sear's Tower is bigger than the WTC was. And unless I haven't paid enough attention (And I know I haven't), the replacement of it will be the biggest in the world I've heard

EDIT: Wiki says the new tower will be the same height as the old ones.

I think that the Sears Tower in Chicago is taller than the WTC buildings were.

Yep, they are makeing the freedom tower. I also heard in the early planning of the building they want to put Anti-aircraft guns on it. but they got rid of that idea. i think it would be cool to have a gaint tower with AA on it

I read last week that the port authority said the tower is coming along fine. They laid something like thousands of yards of concrete, the substructure is coming up nicely and it's something like 250 feet above ground already.LukeAF24

I think they will need some Anti-Air or a force field around the buildings this time though.
