Nah, the world won't end for a LOOOOONG time, mankind might end, but the world will keep on turning without us until the sun explodes.

As for the end of mankind, I think everyone's just being pessimistic, as it has been said in this thread, it will take more than the present situation to end the world, and also there's always a generation that thinks the world is going to end in their lifetime, it never does.
