[QUOTE="_Olimar"]My teacher gave her five year old son a Ipod (nano with like 5 Gigs), what would a five year old do with that?:lol:Kikouken
My cousin got a PSP, he's 4.
Thats kinda undersandable because you can play games, but what is a 5 year old going to listen to on his Ipod????

4-year-old/iPhone, beat that.
And no, I'm not joking.
Jesus Christ. I was just learning how to breath at 4.Yes this upcoming generation is spoiled though it's slowly become like this in the past however many years. Parents don't seem to stand up to their children anymore and they let the kids have too much rule in the house...mindstorm
you may be talking about other moralistic issues which was never a problem for me or my sister but if a kid gets a job he/she should be able to do whatever they want with the money they earn
about 60% of american kids are spoiled, i think i am too but ive had a ****ed up past, and im happy for the things i have, i consider myself very lucky to have a roof over my head and a place to sleep. most kids today think theyre life is SO hard, if theyve been through half the **** i have then theyd realize that they have an awesome life i think i do to, but my life has had its ups and downs. and im still happy for everything i have, even if it isnt much compared to kids thats parents make like 150,000 -250,000 $ a year. my dad only makes like 40,000 a year. im just happy i dont live in the hardcore ghetto...or the middle east.
From my experiences with kids, yes they are very spoiled. And you never see kids these days playing outside. No more hide and seek or tag. Its all about staying inside playing video games or watching Hanna Montana now. CommanderShiro
I cant stand hanna MAntana.

Its all relative. What material kids have today is quite hard to compare to the material things kids had in the past. Perhaps back then a kid with a bicycle at 7 is considered spoiled.
And if the parents or the child can afford that item - then let them. Its their money, they earned it, dont hate them for something you can not provide for yourself or the people around you.
Being spoiled is more of an attitude rather than what material things one owns.
I saw some kid, on the floor, throwing a serious tantrum the other day at the mall... I was like, "WTF?!" at first.
I blame the parents.
Ive seen kids (young children about 3-7) who throw anger tantrums, hit there parents, and break things when they dont get everything to be there way. I wonder sometmes if they would ever grow out of it. What do you think of today's children?_OlimarSeeing as how most of the time when you see a kid do that their parents give them what they wanted I think it's pretty obvious that the kid probably isn't going to be changing.

I guess I meant it in several ways. Whatever the child wants, that's what happens whether it be acting out or receiving presents.
[QUOTE="Sajedene"]How many of you guys can honestly say you've never throwed some sort of fit or tantrum as a kid? All kids go through some stage like that. _Olimar
I never hit my parents or started throwing TV remotes, picture frames, utensils, and even food
But I bet you cried your little brain out. I know some kids held their breath. Some kids didnt speak. Some kids hid. Tantrums vary but that doesnt mean no kid has them.

SajedeneI got a beat down from my dad every time I did something bad. Which was kind of often. Yes I threw tantrums and did brat things. Wooo childhood memories.

FIxed!
The children of upper-middle cIass suburban neighbourhoods, yes.foxhound_fox
Who think they're gangsta and reckon the Crank Dat is the best song ever and to prove so they have it on their phone-cameras.
it varies and kids in the past have done the exact same thing.Sajedene
Exactly. It is all about how the parents raise their kids and such. Sometimes it can't be helped though. It's normal. We have all had our tantrums or little angry outbursts.
i say temper tantrums r from bad parenting yes i think kids are spoiled today. for example kids playing xbox live, when i was younger i didn't have online to play, i had single player or play with my friends. the kids parents pay for live; it is $5 a month but my parents didn't pay me for chores. iam2green
same here man

it's not about having a tantrum, it's how parents handle it and most can't and just cave in to give the kid what they want to shut them up. my parents were never like that, they'd just make us go to our room and cry our eyes out until we calmed down. if a parent gives in they allow the child to believe that that kind of behavior is not only allowable but also profitable.

When previous posts say that kids are spoiled because of tantrums then that is what my response will be. Ofcourse its the parents who feed the need...

true, children are not spoiled for throwing tantrums, they're spoiled if they're rewarded for that kind of destructive behavior. unfortunately lots of parents do that :?

The thing is, with recent society and both parents working, they never learn to take care of their child when they can, then later the kid reaches this phase, when this happens parents don't know what to do, and they get worried of what people may think, so they just go trough the easy way and give the kid wathever the hell they want...
