ever since my friend became a vegetarian its like all the fun's been sucked outta him. he's the type that counts calories now, all he orders is veggie burgers and salads, he doesn't really like to go out anymore period, and refuses date girls who arent vegetarian.

I find vegetarianism cute in females but in males its just annoying

Tell him to use portion control instead of simply switching to a burdening lifestyle.

I think vegetarians are weird in general. There are plenty of ways to consume a wide variety of plant and animal products and flesh while keeping the environment and animal welfare in mind that vegetarianism comes across as a fad most of the time. And that's even ignoring the insane non-vegetarians who eat fish but still claim to be veggies. And the vegans. Where vegetarians are slightly weird, vegans are borderline insane.

He refuses to date chicks that aren't vegetarian? Seriously? That's really dumb... I mean, If I were a vegetarian, I wouldn't care at all if someone I dated wasn't a vegetarian. I would just be a little concerned about how much meat was eaten by them.

I'm sorry, but your friend is dumb... He needs to relax.

I'm in the middle of a vegetarian month right now. It's not so bad. I might even do them again in the future.

The only bad thing is it's really hard to get your protein each day when you're exercising during the same time period. It takes a pretty significant diet adjustment.

I really don't think there is anything wrong with being vegetarian but I do think that some of them take it way too far. Also, I can't stand the vegetarian fanatics that try to push vegetarianism on anyone and everyone.

It was a little for health, but mostly for a little new experience. Fresh fruits and vegetables are in season now, and it proved to be a good opportunity to jump into some new recipes and shake things up.

You can for some, and I certainly will in the future. Some don't really call for meat though.

I'm not doing this forever. Just for a few weeks.

Some recipes have been spectacular, actually. I'll be incorporating them into my regular diet - some with twists, some without.

Actually, that's the toughest part. I started out by increasing my consumption of beans, eggs, nuts, and other high protein foods. That works about half the time. The other half I end up a little short and have to supplement a little.

No more than those that post on gaming forums....

Incidentally I find myself eating less meat as I grow older, and enjoying cooked vegetables more & more

less calories, and they just seem more pure(as in healthy) compared to mass produced meats

Would I fully give up meat? No I ******** love Cincinnati chili amongst other meat products like turkey bacon & sausage

And I can't stand salads:evil:

Eating other individuals? I'm sorry, when did eating animals constitute as cannibalism of individuals? Individuals are people not animals.

I never said anything about cannibalism. And no animals are just as much individuals.

I mentioned cannibalism because individual relates to humans not animals. Animals are in no way individuals, they may in fact have an individual conscience but they do not possess the knowledge to make themselves individuals like people and it's ridiculous to think that they do. Animals are part of a collective that share the knowledge of their ancestors through an unseen network in nature they therefore are not one but many. So like I said animals are not individuals.

In what way are Animals part of a collective more than us? You do know we are social animals and live in herd much more than some other animals. Why do you think we are so different?? We're slightly smarter than chimpanzees, that's it.
