Do you think most people are bigotted in their beliefs ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=054Sp3kk9cA&feature=plcpdkdk999Depends on the belief. A core belief is hard to let go of right or wrong.
To an extent. Most people like hearing things that compliment their world view and dislike things that make them question what they believe in.
People are bigoted if they want them to believe in the same morals and ideals as themselves because they're intolerant of other beliefs. That makes a huge percentage of people bigoted. Just look at all the political threads here on OT.
I'm certainly bigoted towards most irrational ideals.
no one watched the video, it's good. dkdk999
Its not. its pretty poor. "bigots, literally, feel pain when hearing an opposing view" Yup. You can, in fact, kill a bigot by expressing an opposing viewpoint, according to this guy.
Or how using the personalities of Ann Coulter or Bill Maher will suddenly make you like them more if they shared your beliefs. They are both fairly extreme. I prefer Bill Maher because he can atleast be somewhat entertaining, but i can call out his BS all the time.
[QUOTE="FPSfan1985"][QUOTE="dkdk999"] it would be good if people we're open to evidence and logic maybe ?dkdk999Depends on whos presenting the information. Logically you could make a very strong debate to kill all humans with more than enough evidence we do more harm than good. You can't present evidence that humans do more harm than good, because "harm" is pretty much subjective. Of course I could, the evidence being subjective changes nothing because after all, all evidence is subjective.
do like his introduction of Schachter's study. the mode, slider, deviant and the reverse slider.
seen it in most social groups, whether real life or online. but i gotta say the 'reverse slider' is pretty rare.
am i bigotted? perhaps, just in so far as i won't ask specific people what their thoughts are on something because you can have a fairly good idea what they're gonna say before you even pose the question. That might seem like an assumption on my part, but it's only reasonable if you've ever heard someone talk about an x topic so many times you stop having to ask.
Any respectable person wouldn't answer, if they say no, it's probably bs, if they say yes then it's like you're dissing yourself, not respectable!
Bigotry is good. Differing opinions is what caused the second World War. If everyone conformed to the same beliefs, nothing like that would happen. That's why bigots are the best and smartest humanity has to offer because they realized that.
[QUOTE="Aljosa23"]this pretty hypocritical, lol.[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"]
Sorry, I'm not republican or Christian.

I would be considered bigotted in that I don't believe islam is compatible with the civilized world however I am correct.

There was a period of a few hundred years where islam *was* the height of the civilized rule. United Arab Emirates and Dubai are also very wealthy and quite up to standards with modern civilization. I fail to see how you are correct.
