And will you be ashamed or embrace it?
I don't think I will go bald, my grandpa (father side) and father (55) still have a good set of hair.
It's a definite possibility.
A lot of the men on my mother's side have receding hairlines, and my grandfather went bald in his 20's. My dad's family seems ok though.
I guess I'd at least give the treatment options a shot. If that doesn't work, then I'll shave it.
No I don't think I will ever go bald. I am 39 with a head full of 9"+ hair. Not even the slightest sign of going bald.
Yeah, probably.
And why does it have to be the hair on your head? Why can't it be some useless hair, like armpit or something?
Yeah really.
Bound to happen eventually. My hair has started thinning out a lot in the front during the last few years, so I just went ahead and shaved it all off. Great decision. Not only do I look younger and more badass now, but my scalp is also really low maintenance and showers feel 10 times more awesome than they used to. I should have done this a long time ago.
Hope not, since I'm a woman, but it's entirely possible I'll have sparse patches when I get really old because my hair is incredibly thin.

thin and short, medium or long?
Super long, I can almost sit on it and close it in a door or cupboard almost every day. I have a LOT of hair, it's just fine (which is what I should have said). I suppose thin and fine aren't exactly interchangeable in this situation.
It doesn't look bad at all now, I have constant compliments on how nice my hair is, but I can see it becoming more sparse because of the texture of my hair in my later years.
I haven't noticed any thinning in my hair yet. I used to have long hair, but I'm keeping it short now and I get a lot of compliments about how short hair suits me better than long hair. Except everyone asks if I dyed my hair blonde every time I cut it short, it gets darker as it grows longer for some reason. My mother's father had a full set even in his late 70's but my father's father went bald in mid 30's. Now, everyone who knew my mother tells me that I look exactly like her, so hopefully I'll go the way of my maternal grandfather when it comes to hair.
Nope. My dad is in his 80's and he still has his hair. I'm lucky though. Weather is a stressful field and I know many forecasters much younger than me already starting to go bald.

lol, I'm having a hard time creating that image in my head.
Already getting a little thin, depends on how I look. Not noticeable at all if brushed well, but if it happens it happens.
I used to think so because both my grandfathers were bald and my hair started receding in my mid 30s. Now I'm not so sure I'll go completely bald as my hair is thick unlike anyone in my family and my brother, who is only 1 year older than me and yet is almost bald, whereas mine still looks just like a typical early 30s receding hairline. Though I'd rather have a big head of hair, since I wore my hair very long in my youth I kinda grew tired of taking care of it and have been shaving my head for some years so it's not that big a deal for me either way.
I don't think, I know. I can see it happening. Though it's one of those things one has no control over so I try not to feel too bad about it.
My hair is pretty thick, don't think so.
Does that play a role? I mean having thick hair?
No, it's all about genetics.
I always had the thickest head of hair in my whole family. But then I started thinning right out at around the age genetic hair loss generally kicks in.

From memory (wherever it was from), I think it's around 24 - 25 when it normally happens for most.
yeah my hairline is going to sh*t. I'm 26 and there is no way I'm not gonna be bald by 30. Luckily for me I always have my hair super short and already shaved it completely so I'm already used to it
Maybe. My hair has that M shaped line and it isn't super thick.
But every male on my fathers side still has their hair well into their 70s so I think it's from my mother if I have the balding gene.
I guess at this point it's just which side wins out.
already got a nice bald patch on the top of my head. my hair is generally pretty short anyway so it's not a big deal. just gotta watch out for sunburn in the summer now.
it doesnt seem to run in thr family. parents have a full head of hair. grandparents do/did also.
our hair tends to go silver early though (thats silver...not grey...just so we are clear :P). im nearly 30 and a significant chunk of my hair is silver now. itll probably be fully silver by the time i am 40.
am i going to colour it? no.

Maybe.
My dad has thick wavy hair and he never went bald and he's like in his late 60s now I think(don't ever talk to him). I have thick straight hair and the volume of it has stayed the same since I was in the womb. Yes, I had hair in the womb. Came out with hair down to my shoulders. I have to constantly thin my hair with a razor once a month or so.
One thing we can all embrace and relate to in our elderly times is white hair. :D Hair loss is either genetics, autoimmune system problems, lack of nutrition, or aging.
I dont think I am going bald. People I know who are bald will just shave their entire head to hide it.
Oh, that makes a lot of sense.. shave head to hide the bald.
