I'm sure you've heard it before, people interpreting dreams as revealing hidden desires in yourself. I don't think that I fit into the norm. I know that there are some writers that get ideas for stories from their dreams. I don't think I could construct any kind of understandable story from mine though. Although, I am collecting and writing them down just in case I decide to make them into a book in the future.

But anyways, my dream last night was pretty odd, but is really typical of what I usually dream. I dreamed that I was in a big ice skating rink, sitting on the bleachers. I didn't really know what was going on until the show started. It was a kind of circus. But what struck me as really odd was that noone in the audience made a sound. Noone was laughing, cheering, or even talking.

This female clown came out onto the rink driving some kind of lawnmower. Attached to the back of the lawnmower was a trailer that shot out a stream of soapy suds. She just completely soaked the audience and the whole rink. At this point, in my dream, I began thinking to myself, "This really sucks." So I was wondering to myself how that the circus could be so horrible. Immediately, I began to have a flashback of when they originally set up the rink for the performances and what I saw just made it even more bizarre. It was the set of the US tv show "The Office" and the cast was just walking around wondering what was going on.

So I decided that I'd go over and see if I could talk to the cast and see what was going on. Ryan the temp and and Jim were standing around talking, so I walked up and we talked for a while. I can't really remember the conversation except for at the end Jim told me that he was just 14 years old and I called him a liar. At that point, all the cast just kind of disappeard and the set walls and furniture started falling flat on the ice. After what seemed like just a second or two later, my alarm went off and I woke up.

Now, maybe you can interpret something important from that, but I don't even know where to start. The weirdest thing is, I dream things equally as odd as this or even more so every single night.

So, do you think your dreams have any hidden messages in them? I'll be back later tonight.

Well my dreams are never that intricate or complex, and i dont think they really predict the future or be a medium between it and reality. Its just imagination, or thoughts mixing blah blah blah i dont know

I don't know... Those "interpret your dreams" books tend to be really dumb imo.

I looked through one and apparently I have a huge crush on someone  :| nope

Correct. I came home on the train a few weeks back and later that evening, an old friend walked past my house.

The fact that I dreamt about him getting ran over by a train that night is irrelevant... >__>

No I don't. Other than situations weighing heavily on your mind, dreams tend to be you witnessing your brain cacheing all sorts of stuff so you can utilize it better. Your logic sense has this nasty tendancy to try to make sense of of it all and voila a strange story is born.

This is why hypnosis isn't fool proof. Without you actively guiding it along, it tends to automatically patch in holes when queried about specifics as a reflex.

Indeed. Gregg Araki's film "Mysterious Skin" deals with this very subject.

Most of what I dream is complete and utter drivel, and my dreams usually go on for the whole night. If they have any kind of meaning, then some of them reflect my fears or something that's been on my mind lately.
