Wow, you're not even better than rapists and child molesters? I think you're in desperate need of a confidence boost. The problem with the whole "I'm not better than anyone else" aspect is that it's sort of coddling everyone-gets-a-medal bullshit that keeps people from getting better. No, the dude who sits at home all day getting drunk and watching TV is NOT on an equal level as the person who works his/her ass off to try to make the world a better place. If one is to genuinely think that they are "no better than anyone else", then what the hell is the incentive for IMPROVING? What the hell is the incentive for recognizing that "the way I live my life is WRONG, and I should try to do BETTER"? Also, I'm jaded as **** but not so jaded as to deny that there's a very good reason for having things such as role models. If people like Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King and Evel Knievel weren't setting a standard by their behavior, then wtf reason is there to hold up their actions as a source of inspiration? Why the hell would I respect my dad? "Sure, he's a pillar of the community and has busted his ass to help as many people as he can, but that's not any better than sitting on his ass eating Cheetos while watching porn. So if nothing is better than anything else, why the hell should anyone actually put effort into trying to be good?"

YES, some people are better than others. Some behavior is better than other behavior. And furthermore, people who are good are defined as those who DO good. Sitting on one's ass and having good thoughts is not equal to getting off one's ass and doing good WORKS. It should ABSOLUTELY mean something when we refer to someone and say that he/she was a "good person" or a "bad person". And that CANNOT happen if we latch onto the notion that "no one's better than anyone else." No. Just...no. I'm a hell of a lot better than MANY people, and there are even MORE people who are a hell of a lot better than me.

Genetically - potentially. Socio-economically - no. Morally - no.

Do I care? - no

Do I think I am happier than others? - yes.

I once had a talk with someone at a class reunion and he was telling me a bout a study that proofed that 'inovations' and 'driving forces' comes from the people in the middle of the society ... ^^ ... and I was like, 'sure, bro'
