Yes those are both subject matters on which I am very passionate about and they're probably the subjects I talk about the most although lately I've been sort of playing hookey due to work related matters. I'm actually quite amazed that of all the social boards I've visited over the many years, this board somehow manages to rope in a decent amount of people quite knowledgeable in both those subjects which is quite refreshing.

Well you're my #1 favourite classical music-loving, Murakami-reading sumo wrestler that I've met on these boards... and third overall.

Serious question though, would you say Pandora's Box is your favourite film by Louise Brooks or do you prefer one of her relatively lesser-known titles (as if she could really get much "lesser known")?

i respect you, you always have something decent to read when you post.

I know that I am not, but it does not really matter to me. I doubt most posters even know each other with the amount of people, constantly changing usernames and often times a lack of maturity of many posters who really have no respect for anyone in general (not bashing anyone in particular).

As generic as it sounds I would have to go with Pandora's Box as my favorite Louise Brooks film although I'm really fond of Diary of a Lost Girl as well. The great thing about the Diary of a Lost Girl DVD is that it comes with a silly little trifle of a '30s film called Windy Riley Goes Hollywood which is the first talkie film with Louise Brooks that I watched and it was quite nice hearing her voice. The excitement was similar to the first time I heard Bettie Page's voice after years of staring at her pictures. :P

I still haven't gotten ahold of a copy of Brook's film Prix de Beate though so I'm keen to see how that film stacks up.

Do you not use Amazon? I'm sure you can find it there for a reasonable enough price. Let's see... Ah! There we go! If you don't use Amazon, you should get into the habit of doing so. I wouldn't be able to get nearly half the CDs I own if it wasn't for it. Same with a number of movies.
