How come some people think it's not manly to wear shorts? Whenever I wear shorts my dad makes a face and says I should put pants on. What do you guys do about this?

You can just point out to him how his generation caused an average rise in global temperatures that neccessitate such a change of wardrobe. Also, I would keep an eye on your dad.
Yeah I rarely put on a pair of shorts and pretty much wear pants all the time. I don't find shorts that odd, but I am amused at people who I've labeled as "obsessed with shorts" in that no matter what the weather is like they will be wearing shorts and it's common to find them wearing shorts and a jacket...because they're cold.

I had a couple friends bet each other who could wear shorts the longest. Needless to say, both of them were wearing shorts when it was -20 degrees Fahrenheit out.
In the summer, I pretty much have no idea what pants are. Shorts everyday.

I'm definitely a pants man. If it's summer, bedtime or any time it's pants time (the only exceptions being sexy time, swimming time, shower time and toilet time). Shorts aren't unmanly though.
I have a couple of shorts, but usually I do go with the jeans as its not always warm in the summer here. I generally don't wear pants like jeans at home though, just a pair of jogging slacks.
I do a horrible job dressing for the weather. Today was +90 degrees Fahrenheit and I wore long pants and a long sleeve dress shirt. I will be dressed exactly the same when the weather is less than 30 degrees. The way I dress never changes from season to season aside from maybe different shoes or the possibility of a coat.
whenever i go out, i always wear pants and a long sleeve shirt. when i'm in my house, i still wear a long sleeve shirt but with shorts. i only have 2 pairs of shorts that don't have a broken zipper or button and maybe 11 long sleeve shirts, haven't counted them.
I only wear shorts when playing sports or around the house. I'll sometimes wear them outside, but only when running up to the convenience store or somewhere quick. I just kinda look goofy in shorts.
As soon as it's warm enough I wear shorts. I probably have 5X or more pair of shorts than pants. Now that doesn't include dress slacks that I wear for work daily.

I just don't find shorts comfortable. I wear jeans pretty much every day of the year.
