Nope. My mom gets my dad's retirement pension while my dad keeps his social security check. They're both happy.
My wife gets my paycheck and my retirement pension (along with her paycheck) . She's happy. So long as I get enough for my hobbies (including PC and games), I'm happy too.
yes, and over the stupidest things most of the time. if i'm in their vicinity while they're arguing over something, i'll usually end up laughing or point out the illogicality of what they're saying, so that usually diffuses the situation, heh. one good thing though is that their pointless bickering has conditioned me to be a fairly compliant person :P
My mom has a heart condition, and if her blood pressure goes high enough, she will pass out and could die. So, here is how the fights go: My dad gets pissed over a small issue, a fight breaks out, my dad breaks some household items, and sometimes even stuff like tables, nightstands, flips beds and couches over, once, he pulled a ceiling fan out of the ceiling, and he hit my mom twice, and the fight usually lasts for a few hours. I sometimes laugh at how stupid my dads argumentative points are, but that makes everything MUCH worse. It does not end until my mom has passed out and has to be given mouth to mouth. There you have it.
This thread makes me feel much better about my parents now. They do argue at least 6 days a week but I'm convinced that it is a norm among majority of the families.
i am kind of shocked to see how many of your guys parents argue or are divorced. my parents hardly every argue with each other but shout alot at the kids.
They' re arguing less and less as time passes. Still not anything serious just the usual "couples often argue" that parents say to their kids in order to stop them from feeling insecure.
They've been fighting and pulling knives on each other since as early as I can remember and after 17 or so years of marriage they still do and are still together. My dad works out of town up in the oil patch in Canada and is usually gone for a month or two but he rakes in like $200,000 a year and all my mom can do is complain about her life, self victimize herself and cheat on him while spending all of his money on smokes and alcohol so when he comes home it's always a huge fight. He cant even go out and have a drink with his boss or take a picture with another guys wife at a Christmas party without her flipping out.
Hell he bought a nice car for himself for the first time in his life and all she can do is complain that the money goes to the car when any money she gets is spent on alcohol and smokes and half the time there isn't even food in my house so I have to buy my own. My mom is the most untilligent piece of trash of a human being that I haver known and any friend I have brought over (especially my girlfriend) and my sister's friends agree. You would have to meet her in person to really understand why, and while I still love her because she is my mother I have no respect for her and want very little to do with her after I leave home.
