Today I was at the movies with 2 of my female friends and during the movie, one of them kissed me on the cheek. I happen to like this girl, so maybe I'm making it seem like it means something. So do kisses from friends actually mean something or was it friendly?

As bad of advice as that usually is in these threads, it's not that bad here. A kiss on the cheek does not mean you're getting waived around second, but it can be a subtle sign. Contact with her will show a bit of intimacy without coming on too strong. I'd reccomend the hand, though, the shoulder is a bit impersonal.

Relationship etiquitte is a learned behavior, not an instinctual one. If no one's ever told him then how should he know? Besides, it's not the worst thing. Sometimes women like it when you come back all awkward and apologetic, the important thing is they know you're interested and you weren't just rejecting them by not acting when they made their move.
