NO. I HATE my phone and it's touch screen. I will never get one again if possible. It's a piece of junk that constantly gets wonky so I can't touch the button I want unless I turn it off then back on. It's always fun when someone tries to call me and it hangs up on them automatically. Or when it's just sitting there doing nothing and starts touching it's own buttons. Never again. Plus I heard phones with actual buttons are better in case of emergency so that's what I'm going back to.
/end of phone rant. :P

Sounds to me that you simply have a bad touch screen phone. :P Try one of the better Android phones on the market. You'll never want to go back to anything else.
But there exists crappy phones without touch-screens, too. :Pmsudude211
I'm sure but I've never had any issues with any of me or my family's regular keypad phones (I'm the only one with a touch screen). All of our old ones were just fine and their current ones are too. No issues.

One of the ones you have to pay an arm and a leg for every month for a data plan? No thanks. I think that's ridiculous. And I prefer pressing buttons.
no no no no no!!

Well it's quite a bit easier to make a good keyboard phone than it is to make a good touch screen phone. The implementation is still fairly young. With time, you will see a wider array of good touchscreen phones.

Actually, most touchscreen phones now use a capacitve screen covered with glass, which is much more scratch resistent than say, a Blackberry's plastic screen cover. I've got a curve right now and I genuienly hate the thing.
I am actually going to say yes. I have an iPhone, and yeah I'll make mistakes here and there, but Apple done it right on the iPhone. In fact I prefer a touchscreen over a physical keyboard anyday, and probably won't be getting a phone with a physical keyboard anytime soon.

say what!!!!
well i guess its what you perfer, i dont like touch screen i have big figers
and that automatically on touch screen is a fail
I hate texting with touch screens because I always end up hitting more than 1 word at a time.... and no, I don't have a fat finger
when its done right, like on the iphones then yes, it makes the phone a lot better. its easier to use, its convenient and its nice. when its done terribly, like most samsung touchscreen phones like the impression or the solstice then no, because its not as responsive and a pain in the butt just to scroll through contactsmems_1224
The impression is bad? You have no idea. I'd kill for an impression. I'm an AT&T quickfire owner, you have no right to complain about bad touch screens.
If done well though a touchscreen is great to have.

its not terrible but its not as responsive or have multitouch like the iphone has. its not a bad phone by any means but its touch screen doesn't come anywhere near the iphone or even the backflip. not sure how bad the quickfire is since that was discontinued by the time i started working at att lolNo, I really don't think so.
In fact I really don't like them. Especially when they put the keyboard on the touch screen, that is pretty much impossible to use. >_>
depends on the phone
if it is not a smart phone (like mine) no not really, it can be quite annoying at times
but if it is a smart phone then the touch screen gives it endless possiblities because each spot on the screen can be used for something different depending on what you are using it for instead of have designated buttons that can only do one or two functions
so i am going to go with a YES
Buttons don't last as long as they used to so I'm sure tapping the screen isn't any better. You know how many people are, they press on it instead of brushing their fingertip across it. So I can imagine designers are thinking thequicker the phonewears out the better. Some usersstab the screen with a pen until they damage the scensors.
Not necessarily.
If the touchscreen is as responsive as it is on say, the iPhone, then yes it does.
But my last phone was an LG Cookie, which had one of the worst touchscreens I've ever seen. Very slow, had a mind of its own, and you had to beat the crap out of it for it to recognise anything. The touchscreen single-handedly ruined an otherwise decent phone. After a few months I switched back to a non-touchscreen Nokia, which is much better.
