Does Anybody Else Do This?

I sat up in bed until 3 o clock in the morning pondering the meaning of the universe and the afterlife. I was thinking things like, Forever is a longgg time? I wonder if its just like staring at a black wall for eternity?

Tip for getting to sleep..Don't think of these things..

I have before well not that late only like 1 in the morning.

Did you really think I'd be pro McCain? Well, he wasn't too bad, Palin is a different story. :P I do that, too. My mind doesn't have an "off" switch, it just keeps going. It's nice in the sense that I get time to think deeply about things. It's bad in the sense that I'll only get a couple of hours of sleep.

I don't love him but I like him more than McCain. Also, I hate that. I remember being a kid and trying to fall asleep without a movie or something on, it would take forever.

Yeah I can respect that. The people who scare me are the ones who cry over his speeches and stuff. I mean, it's awesome that a citizen who wasn't white became president, but unless you're black, I really don't see why you're crying. :P

Yeah, I couldn't stand the crying. And obsessing over someone late at night has, at one point, led to me getting very, very little sleep. Its even worse when it isn't possible for you to be with that someone.

Same here. We have a lot more in common then I initially thought. How old are you? I'm 16. But anyway, I totally loved this girl I'm friends with now. Like seriously, I'd take a bullet of her, no joke. And she just didn't feel that way. Thus, the second semester of Soph. year (last year) sucked. Hardcore. :( But it's better now because we're friends, I've moved on, and I'm overall a much happier person then I was before.

Ugh, that happens to me like every other day. It's funny how the fact that I need to wash my shoelaces only occurs to me at around 1 in the morning.UnrighteousFury

Yeah, I know. Politics is a crazy thing when you think about it. People will always have their opinions and they will always be right inside their mind. I'm glad you think differently though, the world can definitely use more of that. :P

It's funny the most loving thing she ever did was to tell me to let go. She blatanlty stated how she thought I was an awesome guy, very Godly, etc. but just that she didn't have feelings for me. That it was all her. Funny how things work. I think it was divine providence because it's brought me to where I am now. :)

I know. So many famous people come to mind when I think about tragedy to triumph. Theodore Roosevelt, C.S. Lewis, Oprah (though I don't care for her much :P), etc. Just adds more proof, for me at least, that there's a God.

Not really, you'd eventually get to act on your feelings, I wouldn't. And the way I saw it was "If God doesn't like what I am, then why should I?"

Let's say they don't agree with or accept several christian teachings and traditions. Still, they seek a "higher power". What is the church's view on this person?

You may think I'm crazy but unless the said person is being oppresingly forced into believing a religion other then Christianity, he or she will choose Christianity.

Okay... add to the idea that this person is of no particular religious affiliation (save for the fact that they believe in a higher power) and that they feel very strongly against becoming apart of one.
