Those who sin will still go to heaven; all they need is to be forgiven by God who gives it to them freely through Jesus' blood. You are no better than I; you're just not forgiven like I am.

Dark_Knight6

Well, this wouldn't have ever happened if I were a hetereosexual. I mean, I followed God and yet he couldn't have make me a heterosexual? I just don't understand, does he just like toying with people?

Well when did you learn you were homosexual?

Let's say they don't agree with or accept several christian teachings and traditions. Still, they seek a "higher power". What is the church's view on this person?

Hey_Jay

You may think I'm crazy but unless the said person is being oppresingly forced into believing a religion other then Christianity, he or she will choose Christianity.

Okay... add to the idea that this person is of no particular religious affiliation (save for the fact that they believe in a higher power) and that they feel very strongly against becoming apart of one.

Wel then I'd ask why they feel very strongly against becoming part of a religion. The truth is that I honestly don't know, in regards to your question. Sorry. :P But I do believe anyone who is actively seeking truth will find God.

battlefront23

I started having feelings towards other guys when I was 13 (right around the time I hit puberty). And I don't know if I'm necessarily a homosexual as I still having some feelings for girls.

I like you and Dark Knight because you guys aren't full of such hate for Christianity. It's ridiculous sometimes, but I'm glad that there are those who are still open to Christianity. Somewhat, at least. :P

I don't see the point in hating it. If someone else believes in it, then that's their choice and I respect that. As long as it isn't forced upon me, I'm fine. I also like to talk to you. You've given me more insight on it then anyone else has managed to do.

But the agrument that states "I was born with it" technically can't be used. But anyway, back to your point. It was the same time in my life as well. But your sin is the same as mine and carries the same weight as mine in God's eyes. I will admit I don't know how to get through to you on this issue. But I have hope that maybe some day you'll change your mind. Does that make you mad at me for thinking this way? :P

No reason to hate anything really. Mother Teresa said it best, "I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there."

(and yeah, I realise I quoted a Catholic Christian :P)

Well, I've never really used that argument before. I rely heavily on the fact that it wasn't a choice, though. And to be honest, I don't think I can go back to the way I was before, I'm so much happier now. I want to know what it feels like to be in love with somebody and to share a physical relationship with them. And I'll never know that through Christianity. And, no, I'm not made at you. :P

Mother Teresa was such an incredible person. It astonishes me how much compassion she had for, well, everyone. But anyway, the only thing I hate is sin. But I don't think that counts. :P

They don't actually know. They have nothing against homosexuals (my mom has a gay uncle and my dad has a gay cousin) but I'd prefer to cross that bridge when I come to it.

A point in time where I either feel comfortable telling them or a point where I pretty much have to. They are but they don't really practice, anymore. I'm really the only one in my immediate family that was ever very religious.

Hmm... this is very intersting then. I believe in some pretty hardcore conservative Christian doctrine and well... Ok, I wanna ask; were you on fire for God?

I dont think about things like that ever. I find it a waste of time. Despite what I think, and what others opinions are, we will never know until we reach the end of our life. So why spend life pondering the end?

I should have been a little more clear. I was very religious to the extent a 13 year old can be. I also haven't touch a bible since then. So, I don't remember much nor do I know what that last part is actually asking.

Well, you should try and read the Bible to see what you think. But, if you were to get access to one, don't just solely dwell on the anti-homosexual (homosexuality is sin sections) passages. What I mean is that did you believe, with all of your heart, that Jesus Christ was your Savior?

I've been wanting to read it. I'll try to get hold of one at one point or another. And, yes, at one point in my life, I did.

I'm not calling you a liar but I believe a Christian can't fall away from Christianity. I think that you weren't really a Christian. (maybe just because you were young to fully believe maybe?) Ugh that's quite a can of worms I just opened. :P

You'd be surprised how much going from being a happy person to disliking yourself can change your out-look on life. Oh, if only the nuns from elementary school would have heard you say that ( I was a favorite :P ). I still do doubt myself from time-to-time and wonder if I made the right choice, though.

Pfft, nuns, what do they know? :P Anyway, I'm glad if I'm able to sway you to Chrsitianity or at least to help you contemplate about it more. Ultimately, I'm just the messenger, God has to work on your heart. Like Jesus said "I didn't come for the well; I came for the sick." Think on that, because I got to go to bed right now. I'm driving to Idaho with my family tomorrow for 8 hours. That'll be fun. Good night, dude and God bless. :)

I sat up in bed until 3 o clock in the morning pondering the meaning of the universe and the afterlife. I was thinking things like, Forever is a longgg time? I wonder if its just like staring at a black wall for eternity?

Tip for getting to sleep..Don't think of these things..

honkyjoe

This is why i took up drinking, for if i didn't, i would forever stay up at night pondering my existence, and that of the rest of you, and the universe as a whole as well.

Successful in what capacity? If you will have enough money to live comfortably? Chances are you will. Most people will. Almost all in the Western world will/do. What are you worried about? It's not hard to achieve that goal. Is that not enough?

Focus your enthusiasm on changing the world for the better, not on putting more money (than you need) in your personal coffers.

I remember a couple of times when I've thought of something like that. Once as a random thought and again after my grandmother died.
