Okay, this is a bad social group to get to get an opinion of that question from. I naturally wouldn't think that GS users and the beach play with each other. So the accuracy of this poll is questionable.*
*sub-note: I hate the beach
I live in a TROPICAL country ATM and tourism is one of this nations biggest industries. People come from all over the world to see these beaches, And ive got to say when your here they look even better than any billboard, postcard, comercial or movie you have ever seen. They strech on for miles on end. some of the Virgin Territories are even more beautiful you could literaly go for hours without seeing anybody else ....and if you like snokeling the reefs are just a few feet away. As for the beaches in Florida I could understand why you dont like it that much. OVERCROWDED, OVERREGULATED.    Try a TROPICAL BEACH preferably one where the tourism industry hasnt ruined the experience. and you might reconsider.Â
Personaly I love the beach. Its my favorite place to be

I've re-elaborated my post for your benefit. Most people at GS aren't "normal people." Visitng a forum about four times a week is not something "normal people" do, and those people are usually the type to shy away from the beach. If he was really that curious as to the percentage of people who like the beach and those who don't (which I'm sure he's not), the best place he could ask is his high school or college.
To each their own.
I love the beach, we know a beach that isn't ever very crowded, it's so gorgeous, especially at low tide. (Lots of cute tide pools, and a great big sand bar out in the water.)
I find it very relaxing, sitting on the beach, tanning, putting on some music. Swimming a bit, fishing off the shore. Heading to the boardwalk afterwards! Such a fun experience.

define "normal"...We both know what I mean by "normal" people. Bright and early for the daily races; going nowhere, going nowhere... It's a mad world. Mad world. See? *points to self* THIS isn't normal. We both know who I mean by normal people. The people who constantly worry about what everyone else thinks. The people who think if you're not currently seizing every opportunity to sleep with someone then you're weird. The people who are too insecure to ever go anywhere in public without a friend. That's what the majority of people in their teens and twenties are like nowadays.
I don't mind being on sand, Im scared of large bodies of water though...
Ponds, lakes, corries, streams, rivers, sea, pools... If their big enough, I just don't like them, it seriously does scare me to think about getting in them sometimes, what makes me go mad though is when you can't see beneath the water you're in...Im a perfectly capable swimmer from the training I've done to my own fear of being in pools and stuff but I go mad if I get in water like that...I didn't like having bubble baths as a kid either, I couldn't see the water and it scared me:|
Beach is fine, sea isn't...Â
