Veteran's Day is also not about "the world war"please read up on some history,
Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918, as the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice

Veteran's Day isn't about the world wars. It's about anyone who has ever served in the military forces.

The sole reason it started with commemorating WWI only was because WWII didn't happen back then.Veteran's Day is also not about "the world war"[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="gogly"]

I suppose you must not be from the U.S.A. Veterans day, as it is commonly referred to in America, is a day to recognize and honor all veterans, not just World War I veterans.
There aren't exactly a helluva lot of WWI vets left alive. That was kind of a long-ass time ago.
As to the question posed by the OP, I don't think it's ironic. I don't think that's what the word "ironic" means. It's like rain on your wedding day. That's not ironic either.

I thought this one was about the Bay of Pigs invasion.
