Of course I buy CDs. I feel that certain artists deserve my money because they provide me with enjoyment for their music. Also I like having a physical product as a opposed to some files on a computer. See the overall CD product is great, artwork, linear notes, it all adds up to the album experience, and it is sad that many people are opting out of that.
100% with you on that. CD's are an experience. Digital is sterile.Of course I buy CDs. I feel that certain artists deserve my money because they provide me with enjoyment for their music. I always buy CDs unless there's no other way to obtain the music. I enjoy having a hard copy of the music so I don't have to worry about losing what I paid for through hardware or software catastrophes and I like paying the artist for their hard work in creating something that I enjoy. If I really enjoy a band then I like to pick up a vinyl copy if it's available and then try to get it signed as signed vinyl is just so much more enjoyable than a signed CD.

I have Disintegration, Pornography, that, and 4:13 Dream.Of course I buy CDs. I feel that certain artists deserve my money because they provide me with enjoyment for their music. I still buy CD's yes, however I always copy them immediately to my hard drive so they are a bit more permanent. I disagree with those who say that digital copies aren't as good as a CD, that makes about no sense. I'm sure you've heard of lossless audio ripping by now?

I still buy CD's granted I do download songs (iTunes) but very rarely will I not buy a CD if I want the full album.
Lossless ripping is quite awesome, but if someone only gets the digital version, and their hard-drive cops out, they have to get those files back again. Besides, physical copies are just too awesome(and burning music onto blank CDs is pretty ineffective for long-term storage...they don't have the best lifespans compared to pro-grade discs)I still buy CD's yes, however I always copy them immediately to my hard drive so they are a bit more permanent. I buy CDs because I like having the hard copy, the artwork, and everything else that comes with a CD.
I haven't bought any in a while...but that does not mean I've been downloading any music either.
I intend to get the new Alice in Chains CD when that hits, which is next month I think. I'll probably have to go to Best Buy since media-only stores are always a ripoff anymore.
Yep, but its hard here in Los Angeles because the only CD stores I know of are Amoeba, and CD trader and they are both pretty far from me. I love CDs though, the artwork, the physical CD. Having the case to put in a collection. its wonderful what some bands do with their CDs. I got a Belle and sebastian CD recently called The Life Pursuit, and in the booklet it comes with are a few pages of questions people sent the band and the answers the various band members sent back. its silly, but its fun to read. I also love having lyrics printed.

If I pay for music, I buy the CD. My CD collection is rather small though. I have 28 CDs.

Where do you go to get CDs? I use Amazon a lot these days since the CD stores I know of are not close to me at all.
I love Amazon, especially the third party sellers. I can often get a new CD from a third party seller for 3/4 or less of the price Amazon sells it for. :D

My brother's band has a CD on Amazon:D Nothing beats the atmosphere of a good CD store though, especially somewhere like Amoeba records. I love that place.

That is how buy DVD's and CD's....I hardly ever buy CDs in stores any more. I can usually find the CD's cheaper online... haven't been buying any DVDs lately, don't have a blu-ray player yet but don't want to buy any more regular DVDs since I'll probably get a blu-ray player soon (or, more likely, a blu-ray drive for my desktop).

That's awesome, what's your brother's band name/what type of music do they make?
Although, yes, though I don't usually buy CDs in stores, I still love going to them. I usually just end up browsing, but it's fun. :D
