[QUOTE="p2rus"] Wrong. Anarchy can be socialist, it can mean communes, extreme individualism, emphasis on cooperation.... In other words, the American conception of anarchism is misconceived and the public is misinformed on the actual details of anarchism: it doesn't mean "oh insanity, fallout 3, chaos" ... again I don't think you know what anarchism is. p2rus
Wrong, anarchy is the complete opposite of socialism. Anarchy means the abscence of all but the most basic forms of governement whereas socialism means that the state controls various aspects of living. Communism can be very much in line with anarchy depending on which theories you espouse, but communism=/=socialism.
My bad I was telling my brother the differences between communism and socialism and they both ended up in my post somehow - but yes as far as communism goes it can work with anarcism. Lets face it though anarchism gets an awful rap in this country.MMMM...I dunno, I think the rap it gets is pretty fair. Like I said, I find most anarchists to be pissed off kids who just hate authority in all its forms. I also know that there are a whole plethora of problems that we have to face before we ever start to talk about anarchy seriously and that it's almost garunteed that we won't face all of them in any of our lifetimes. For now, I don't think anarchy can be regarded as anything more than utopianism at best and misguided angst at worst. Maybe someday that will change, but presently we can't even get past minor social differences let alone exist in a fully-functioninganarchistic society.
