Does calling girls ugly make you feel better?

It's kind of weird but I notice then whenever I'm talking to someone I NEVER admit that a girl is attractive because it kind of puts my sense of attractiveness out to be judged. If I only say the most super hot girls are attractive then it kind of makes me feel like I'm more attractive. Why is that?

Let's say my friends and I see an average girl walking down the street and they say that she is attractive. I ALWAYS say, "She's ok." Or call her a butterface or if she's overweight say something about that. It makes me feel better about myself for some reason. Because then my friends think. "Wow, he's so confident that he doesn't even think that good looking girls are attractive. He only thinks super hot girls are attractive." If someone I knew only said that really attractive girls are attractive I wouldn't be thinking they are confident at all just very, very shallow and unless they themselves are very attractive they will never get a girlfriend. There would also be a part of me that would be thinking maybe he only says the most attractive girls are attractive because he wants to hide the fact that he's gay (this does happen as I know a guy that did this).
