I too live in Connecticut and let me tell you, last ski season was sh!t and I didn't have a single snow day. Not even for the massive snow storm in October. So for me it's been rather saddening. On the bright side, since I'll be in college next year, I'll pass on the snow.

That has nothing to do with global warming.

In February a russian wind managed to blow its way into western europe and temperatures dropped by 20-25 degrees for three weeks. Should we conclude that global warming is not true because of this?

Who needs polar bears when we have wine.

Davulao

I don't give a crap what happens to polar bears. Now what?

Oh no, we have the largest diversity of speices on the planet since it could sustain life. A few die out. Big whoop.

(I'm not a non-believer of global warming, I just hate that who "WHAT ABOUT X SPEICES" argument."

But this time it will be a real "cold war", Putin's gonna freeze us (Russians can withstand cold so the cold wave won't kill too many Russians except for the old people).

Also the extinction of some species can pave the way for the emergence of new species (do you think primates would've gotten far if there were T-Rexes and Velociraptors running around the jungle).

The rate at which humans are driving species to extinction is however vastly greater than the rate at which new species will evolve to fill the resultant niche

There have been about 5 mass extinctions in the past, though humans were not responsible for them. So on a moral level this upcoming mass extinction is rather different.

What about, say, polinating bees dissapearing? That would be a big deal. Some species are really "more important" than others though. As being at the top of the food chain I feel like we have a bit of an obligation to not just kill things off.
