It doesn't scare me, but it definitely bums me out.

No but it is quite embarrasing when my friend drives us home from school blasting Cradle of Filth, Otep, or Chimaira
The good stuff really is beautiful though. It scares me to think that somewhere, there's a guy who thinks that this **** is beautiful.

The good stuff really is beautiful though. hell yeah!hahahaha, what an absolute Joke! I know right?[QUOTE="Afylan"]
Nope not at all. I personally find people that perform so-called heavy metal songs are one of 'the' low life individuals of society. Uneducated, worthless, uncontributing and postpones societies advancement. However, I believe individuals choose paths such as these, admire it and have a passion for it and thus, should not be taken from them. Pitty how people flock to them for this piece of garbage.
I believe every individual have the right to choose what they desire as because of their passion and not worry about people's judgement.sAndroid17
Then it should scare you even more to know that there's millions of guys out there who think it's beautiful ;)It scares me to think that somewhere, there's a guy who thinks that this **** is beautiful.

Then it should scare you even more to know that there's millions of guys out there who think it's beautiful ;) ohh, Zing!No not at all....I used to like softer rock, like Static-X, but now its gotten into extreme/death metal.Do bands where the names are like 'decapitated babies' or 'cryle abomination' scare you at all?
I remember in 8th grade I used to be afraid of Linkin Park because I thought they were pretty angry, now I listen to vicious bands like Pig Destroyer where they sing about hunting and stalkinglove interestsand it doesn't even have any effect.

no angry metal only scares me because of the suck factorBauers-TwinOH U! you can't say all angry music sucks :|
[QUOTE="lukadragon"]it's funny how people praise people with falsetto vocals, and classically trained singers for their ability to hit the high notes, yes people can't appreciate the other end of the spectrumi don't especially like angry heavy metal music, it's just that hoarse screaming inside my ear just isn't my idea of what music should be (no, just no.)

Who says i like high notes, the fact is that i do not like either extremes, i don't want 40 year old chorus boys with no testicles piercing my ears, neither do i want hoarse screaming in my ear, what i want from music is actual instrument made music (singing is a part of the music but shouldn' be major) an impossible concept for some(this does not refer to the guy i quoted.)
Doesn't scare me, but sometimes there are bands with ridiculous names like AxCx that I tend to stay away from because their music is so bad.
Anaal Nathrakh scared me at first back when I heard of them when I first got to High School. :? I got over it though and now they're one of my favorite bands.Saturos3091
I have to admit, the first time I listened to Anaal Nathrakh I was a bit like :? at the vocals, but they grew on me heaps. I love it when they switch to their chant like vocals, like in Der Hölle Rache Kocht in Meinem Herzen.

I think you should listen to a few more metal bands before you make these judgements!Eh, I used to listen to death metal and grindcore and stuff. Now I listen to happy hardcore and rave. What're the chances of that?

What a downgrade.
I don't know what happened. Woke up one day and couldn't bare to listen to it. :| I don't think I'll ever settle down with a genre, I like to feel the cold side of the pillow every now and again.
I did listen to quite a coupla metal bands, such as Pantera, Metallica, Black Sabbath, etc. But every time i did i went back to listening to DragonForce, linkin Park, Nickelback, AC/DC, etc. My fav band is DragonForce (and no stop judging them for the 2 songs that sound the same, otherwise most the songs are quite diferent) So yea i do try to listen to more metal bands but i just can not be bothered; its extremely slow and a guy usually screams at my poor ear with a very hoarse voice...Mabe someone tell me some other Power Metal bands or some songs in that type???

Fair enough. I dont think that could ever happen to me, but I find myself becoming interested in genres I never liked before. After listening to a lot of industrial, I've become interested in various types of electronic music. Progressive rock has also contributed a bit to that, as well as ambient.
[QUOTE="sAndroid17"][QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]Dying Fetus FTW! also no swiftkillz0saw them last night:D and No TC :P why must they have names like that. dying fetus wtf. to shock people. the term Dying Fetus is referring to abortion, which is kind of fitting seeing as the band is pretty political. not all DM bands have names like that (Arsis, Opeth, Augury, Quo Vadis, Theory In Practice, Blotted Science, etc.)
