i believe its only for them to be out in public andto be sold, the ban does not address women and it doesnt say you cant have one, you just have to get round the problem of getting one without being sold it i guess!

Saudi is based all on Religion the reason for banning dogs and gets in PUBLIC (yes walking your dog is not allowed) as it may s*** or urine somewhere and people pray, mostly people pray all over, Side of roads, on the Sand/Deserts! You can have them in homes, I once saw a cat in their holiest city lol...no one did anything.. they just let it go past do its own business.... So yeah it makes sense thats the reason. And yeah nearly everyone prays a lot of people.... Thought I would clear stuff up for people who don't know about other countries....
Yup.. that's right.. I live in Saudi Arabia because of my Dad's job and it's really awesome here, but.. this is just not happening. Just when my brother and I thought of getting a pet Cat...grr
Just some weeks ago, the Saudi Arabian goverment banned having cats and dogs as pets.. I read that in a newspaper. Well, THATS NOT IT.. The reason for all this crap was because the stupid silly abnormal goverment thought that Guys in here were trying to impress women/girls by showing off their pets. OMG this is sooo stupid!!

Dogs in Saudi Arabia are super rare anyway. Stray cats, however, are all over the place.
